Blew a seal, different catch can needed?

Hey everyone, couple of weekends ago driving the wifey to lunch i noticed the smell of oil so immediately pulled over and the car was pissing oil, and the accessory belt was completely shredded. I'm running approx 20lbs of boost with a CPR GEN6 ZL1/ V3 BREATHER TANK that vents into the atmosphere. The car left to get repaired this morning, and I was just wondering if maybe that isn't the appropriate catch can/vent can to help alleviate crankcase pressure, if that is in fact what seal blew when i was driving. Wasn't driving the car hard at all and just pulled off the interstate when I noticed the smell, although I did hear a "thud" when I lost the belt right before smelling the oil. I know it could be a number of things but just wanted to eliminate the easy stuff first or get your thoughts on what may be up. Could be a bad seal, bad belt that shredded the seal, not enough crank case ventilation, a number of things. Thanks for your thoughts.

The belt breaking is what tore the seal. Not the other way around.

Install the LS style seal when you repair it.

Your crankcase vent set up is fine.

My shop had LT and LS rear main seals hanging on their wall. I can't believe how much stronger the LS feels. Mine must have become organic because it has stopped leaking... for now.

A penguin was driving his car, and had some issues with it. So he pulls over at a repair shop. The guy tells him it will be an hour or so, and he can go across the street to a convenience store to get a snack. The penguin gets some ice cream, and because he has flippers, not hands, it gets all over his face. When he comes back to the shop, the mechanic comes out and says, "Looks like you blew a seal." The penguin says, "No, it's just the ice cream."
