NPP troubleshooting...added Corsa and seems INOP
So from day one I've had an MBRP axle back on the car and recently decided to upgrade to the Corsa valved system (with the 3" mid pipe, too).
The actuators were wrapped in plastic zip tied and stored under my deck for 3 years. I removed them from the suitcase and installed to the Corsa. Both actuators can be freely rotated 90 degrees by hand. The Valves on the Corsa are defaulted to the open position and move freely by hand. The pigtail under the car was similar for 3 years, unplugged and wrapped and tucked away under the car. With the Corsa install i have either intermittent operation on the L side, but seems not operational on the R side. I have checked the pigtail connections, applied wd-40 for moisture removal. Still INOP. Fuse 51/15A is installed and not blown. I have removed fuse 51 and drove the car for a shakedown on the install and everything was good to go but valves seem to be either fussy or one-sided and I can't figure it out... |

I believe I installed the actuator with the "dial" in the open position, to match the valve as open visually, which would be on the long axis of the actuator.

Someone else posted a similar complaint a few weeks ago. Don't think they ever posted a resolution. My guess is that the actuators don't like to sit inoperable for months/years, and they seize up. I haven't looked too closely at mine after I installed my Borla axle-back, but I wonder if they can be split open? Do they have gears inside? Maybe they can be salvaged?

I swapped them land right and that didnt resolve it so either the actuator is toast or it's a wiring problem. The car side pigtail connector on that side the pins all look good/straight and feels fully seated but lacks a satisfying click when put together.
I think that other guy with the NPP problem presumably it had been tuned out by a previous owner. |

It was wiring, something in the plug, corrosion or rust, i had to clip the plugs off and splice the wires. I tried an electronics cleaner and brush, compressed air, nothing solved it.
Valve works now. |
