Dent in door trim aluminum
Hello there,
So I noticed I have a small almost pencil head sized dent in my silver (aluminum?) door trim and I was wondering what the thoughts are for the best course of action. I am at work right now, but I upload a picture a bit later. I already started going nuclear pricing out a replacement piece, but most of the pieces I see are solid and don't have the spectrum lighting. I imagine I took a corner too hard and my phone hit it or something, I can't fathom what else could have caused this. If this piece is easy enough to get off, would it be possible to gently push it back out from the opposite side? I am not too familiar with how the individual pieces are constructed or even what to actually call this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Yeah, on the silver trim that holds the spectrum lighting.
I suppose my seatbelt potentially could have caught it, though I feel I would remember something like this. I'll have a pic in a few hours.

I’ll be keeping an eye out for the photo you upload, before hypothesizing the most likely culprit.

Another option, depending on your budget, would be to cover these with carbon fiber overlays, e.g. this product.

Appreciate the responses, I ended up working late last night and didn't get a chance to get to the car.
Will be trying again later today.

Maybe someone can correct me but aren't those made of plastic? Might be hard to repair if they are. I like the overlay idea arpad had.

Don't think you can really "repair" that.. unless maybe by pulling the piece off, heating it until it softens up a bit, and trying to push the ding out from the back? As others mentioned, probably worth putting an overlay on it and just cover up the damage. I installed real carbon fiber overlays over mine a few years back and they still look awesome to this day:
If that is the drivers side I "think" this is the part: https://www.gmpartsgiant.com/parts/g...-84031904.html Here's a video on replacing the trim piece that I found,
