Is there a best of both brake pad that still offers good braking with less dust?

I really do like how this car brakes with the stock pads. I decided to just keep them until I NEED to replace them and make the decision then. One minor thing I have noticed while driving with the windows down. When someone installed the front/rear cameras they must have not sealed the headliner correctly because Im getting small pieces of blue styrafoam flying around. Im guessing this is from the padding or whatever they have up there but what's the best way to seal it? Is there a trim piece or should I get some spray adhesive and try tacking it down better? Ideas please!

That said, I think one of the foam blocks spacing the headliner from the roof may be damaged, because the fabric doesn't contain blue material. You should be able to inspect the gap above the headliner from the rear by removing the clips and gently pulling it down.

Great looking ride! And welcome to Club F1FTY. Like others have mentioned this used to be one of the top threads here on the forums. I mean we’ve got enough posts/pages lol. And yeah the brakes generate a lot of dust with the Brembo but they are great stopping power. But if not tracking the car the Powerstop are the way to go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks for the input fellas! Really enjoying the car! Has anybody else experienced intermittent stuck higher RPM's in neutral? One night several weeks ago I was using the rev match and was coming to a stoplight when I put it in neutral and the RPM's shot up like it normally does but stayed in like the 4000 or 5000 range. I couldn't get it to go down for like 2 or 3 seconds, so I put the car in gear and engaged it in gear then it finally lowered. Makes me not want to use the rev match feature. Also today in the hot 97 degree weather with the AC running the car was revving up in neutral and in gear around the 1400 RPM range without giving it gas one time during my ride. Not continuously but it did happen. Usually when I put the car in neutral, coming to a stop it sits right at 600 RPM.

Can’t say I’ve had it hold the rev for that long if using rev match. I do know on hot days with ac on the engine does work harder and runs higher rpm. Might be worth stopping at a dealership to have them look at it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Camaro Superfest - Commerce Twp. Michigan
So this happened over the weekend. Camaro SuperFest in Commerce Township Michigan (NW Detroit suburbs).
Managed to get all the Fifty cars that showed up in for a family photo. Some interesting observations…
There was another family portrait being taken at the same time. 2024 Panthers. Five of them.

Very cool. I need to hit this one up next year. I’m still stock wheels but not stock tires. I’ve got the gold glowtie and gold rear bowtie. Black glowtie didn’t exist when I ordered my car. Became available after. Didn’t feel like swapping it. And love all the different plates. I had F1FTY then moved states and got FIFTY because I wasn’t allowed to have a letter replace a number per state regulations. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

There was a brief but very rowdy thunderstorm in the middle of the event. I put my car cover on. Partly because it would keep the car mostly dry…partly because it is a seriously cool cover so why not show it off. Didn’t take a picture of it then, but here’s an earlier picture of the car under the cover.

That cover was one of the cooler ones. I missed the production run of it. I’ve got a nice cover though. Thanks for sharing the pics! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Greetings Club F1FTY...haven't posted in a while and of course need some input and advice
!My front splitter was damaged due to negligence by a construction company working on my street. They did not align the large metal plates covering the open trench and the Front Splitter on my RS is damaged. The construction company will be paying for the repair/replacement. I prefer OEM and as you know it's discontinued. I'm looking for input, recommendations on a replacement. I know there is Anderson Composite, EOS, and others. Any help is appreciated on recommendations. Thanks in advance... |

I had the same type of damage but a bit bigger (to the corner). My spoiler caught a sidewalk edge that was under construction and not levelled properly. I searched everywhere for new and used with no luck. The 3rd party suppliers had nice products but I'm stubborn and needed original. Since I had all the pieces where it broke I bought one of those plastic welder (I call it a melting stapler) and by cutting open the back I pieced it all back together. It fit so well I skimmed with a very light coat of body putty before I "rattle canned" it and it looks as good as new. Good luck in your search. |
