I've been going back and forth on my ZL1 in regards to the same thing. I'm ALMOST all blacked out with the exception of the carbon fiber hood insert, graphite wheels and graphite calipers. I kind of like how my current wheels give contrast to the black car and feel if I did gloss black ZL1 wheels that it'd be TOO much black. Bottom line is, I'm TOO indecisive!
I'd like to make my calipers gloss black with the ZL1 sticker regardless which wheels I have, but there's no one around where I live that can do it properly and I don't trust myself to do it...

I'm right there with you on the indecisiveness. It seems like the cosmetic side of my build has been by trial and error. My first aftermarket spoiler was the anvil spoiler, I wound up removing it after a few weeks and then re-installing the factory SS stanchion spoiler before finally deciding to go with the ZL1 spoiler. I didn't want the gloss black M017's so I bought the gunmetals. After several months I realized that they were too light and didn't really go well with the other satin black add ons. So ultimately I decided to have them powder coated in satin black. As you can see, I tend to overthink things.

I know black wheels seem popular today but, not for me. It depends on the color of the car but, black wheels get lost with the tires in the wheel well looking like just black holes going down the road. I like a car that has wheels that accentuates the color and contrast. When the wheels pop out it makes the whole car look better. I just ordered bronze wheels for my white Camaro with new powder coated red calipers.

I agree with Smokin19 on that one. Dark gray wheels work with any paint color, including black, and nicely accentuate the wheel well.

Agree, and that is the main reason for my hold up on putting black wheels on my Black Z. I feel like the current OEM graphite ones help with the wheel/tire/car separation nicely and if I did gloss black to match the car, it'd all get lost by being blended in too much.

Lots going on this week... Decided to order the Mishimoto coolant reservoir along with my buddy Alex. It's a decent unit, but I really dislike the matte finish, so I am stripping them down and having them re-coated to a satin wrinkle to match the rest of the underhood theme.

Picked up a bunch of ARP 12-point hardware to replace some of the under-hood hardware... more on that later...

Just got done test fitting a new "ram air" package that integrates into our High Flow Impact Bar Air Deflectors... the fitment is awesome, will be making one more revision before we start production (there will be a with and without oil cooler option)

Last but not least... I got a very special delivery from my friends at Ridetech... (teaser image only) going to be testing out their new Coilovers, and while tearing into the rear end, decided to upgrade a few more of the rear end components... stay tuned, lots of good stuff coming!
