What is this Item and do I need to replace it?
I've just returned from the states (AZ) to notice this (pics) I'm not sure what this piece is, or what it does. It appears to have oil or grease coming from it. I haven't pulled the bottom Shrouds off yet. I will do this tonight. However, I just thought I would try to understand what's happening before I even get started. Cause it appears something needs replacing just below the pulley. Thanks once again forum.

Yes, it's the hydraulic tensioner...it needs replaced.

It's prone to leak and then fail prematurely, I had to replace mine last year as well. Part number is 12686229 or 12738403 (for a newer version).
A very easy job, fortunately, just take off the belts and make sure you de-tension it in the right direction (for some reason this thing and the supercharger tensioner go opposite ways).
