Ground Control

Have a 2021 ZL1 1LE stock at the moment. Purchased Apex VS-5RS 18 x 11 ET35 wheels and Nitro NT01 315/30-18 tires (squared) for track set. Running Sonoma, Thunder Hill and Laguna Seca currently. I am reading that I will want -3 to -3.2 camber, but in order to do that with this set up, I need to make some changes to the struts for clearance. Ordered Ground Control (GC) tops. Per GC, I need to drop my struts and send to them to remove the stock tops, which are welded on (I have the blue stock tops now) and they will install their tops and return the package ready top reinstall in car. They say I will get up to -3.5 with their tops. Wondering if the strut body will still need to be ground down for clearance as shown on various threads and even on the Apex site when using this wheel/tire set up on stock strut packages? Any advise would be welcome. Thank you!

No, you can get that camber without any mods. You have a ZLE, there's plenty of adjustment. Your DSSV struts already have rotatable camber plates. Read the owner's manual performance supplement.

Since the APEX ET35 offset is intended for roataing front to rear, you need a wheel spacer anyway, so there is no issue with clearance. Anybody running those wheels/offset do not run without a spacer up front. APEX specs a spacer in their info.

I concur with the above!

Who do you track with in NorCal? I'm a coach with HOD and might run into you.
