Glue for corner of fender hash decal?

What's a good adhesive to use for the corner of a fender hash decal that's peeling up?

I would clean the paint and underside of the decal with an alcohol pad.
Mask around the edge where the decal will sit once you are done.
i would use very thin layers of contact cement on both car and decal, letting both dry for a bit before reapproximating.
keep it thin so it's not bumpy when you push them together.
You don't want cement to ooze out because that will not give you a clean edge.

It will never come off cleanly then, though, or will it? He may want different stripes down the road...

For my kayak, I used an Elmer's glue stick like someone would use to seal an envelope. The number has not peeled again.

Clean and tape off as suggested. Buy some 3M Primer 94 from Amazon. You can buy little disposable "pens" with a felt tip on 'em for pretty darn cheap. It's a contact cement of sorts. Same general adhesive that's used on 3M's wrap films, only in liquid form. Apply to the vinyl and the paint. Let it dry. stick it down.

It's never quite as good as new, and you'll see any contaminants that you can't remove from the decal before sticking back down, BUT, it "should" last a long time. We do this when repairing wraps and vehicle graphics.

Thanks for the tip, as well as outlining the realistic expectation. I appreciate that! Ordering now. Let's see - I can buy 1 pen for $14.59, or a 3 pack for $7.58. 3 pack it is, lol.
