I was like Fu, you need to pay for all of it. they said but you tracked the car.
I contacted a huge amoutn of legal firms, and not a single one would do anything. at that poijnt I gave up.
I had wrath rebuild it with a cam. All in it ended up costing me about 20k, so I have a camaro that cost me over 100k before 20k miles.
Sorry that's how it ended. I'm guessing you needed a new short block for that price, then. Did you go big or stick to stock displacement?

stock block was dissasembled and rebuilt. luckily the rotating assembly was not damaged, although the main bearings had wear.

stock displacement still.

Cool. I'm glad you got by with a rebuild and not something more intensive/ costly. What a pain though.

For around 4K you can make your car bulletproof with a upgraded pump or end up like this poor guy that will have to spend thousands of dollars to repair.
That's exactly what I did. Peace of mind since I'm keeping it forever.

The revised pump solved the problem but getting a dealer to cover it under warranty now would be next to impossible unless you have an extended warranty. The affected years were 2017-2018 so that would be many years out of warranty regardless of mileage.
