Well that was short lived... 7th Gen Camaro SUV EV
Talks of the 7th gen actually coming back are getting more and more traction...... Less than a year after they discontinued the 6th gen camaros
but this is the wrong way of doing it....... 4 door electric version, and a v8 four door.......where's the regular 2 door coupe.................. They need to at least do what ford is doing with mustang have a "hippie " version and a true bread v8 coupe! and they were teasing about the idea of a pontiac trans-am A FEW months ago!! I can see them bringing back the trans am name plate that way... sort of like what they did with GMC hummer... lol Different sources... https://www.motortrend.com/news/2027...ev-future-cars |

Not a chance in hell I'd buy one! Besides, the government just repealed CAFE standards enforcement!

Oh hey cool another Charger Daytona EV failure if its an EV if its an EV SUV well that is just a rebadged EV blazer/equinox. I rather buy a Dodge Charger EV than what is being said here.

There's still some chance a real Camaro will come back under Corvette branding, but we all knew this "Camaro" EV was going to happen as soon as they announced the 6th Gen was being canceled.

From an enthusiast's perspective, these "performance" EV's are just horrible imho. Heavy as sh*t, sound like sh*t and completely soulless. Like driving an appliance. They may be fast due to the instant torque, but that's it. I would never own one.

So then... next car is a manual M2 then? I mean what else is manual and sporty these days? I'm not THAT old i swear, i just hate the disconnection from the driving experience.

Coupes are dying before our very eyes and GM currently only has one architecture to remotely consider if they were to bring it back. Good news it may have gotten a brief reprieve. Bad news is it’s still too expensive and probably doesn’t lend itself to a more practical coupe. That being said, this is all speculation. The other reason I’m doubting much of this is Chevrolet already has a Blazer EV SS. It’s already super fast, but articles leave it lacking in handling. I don’t see GM coming out with another Blazer EV SS. Now what we’ve seen historically (ATS Sedan and coupe) is to do a sedan where the coupe shares a ton of the hardware and interior. GM is missing an affordable sedan right now sooooooooooo maybe a Chevy sedan with a coupe based on it.

California can stay on its island all it wants. I can hardly wait to see what happens when all new sales of small gas engines are formally banned on Jan1st 2029. I personally know someone who is building up inventory of beat up stuff that he can rebuild and sell into California! ![]() The icing on the cake is their already inadequate electrical grid will cause mass rationing of electricity for EV's! We also had great news today that Lee Zelden has rolled back derating of diesels that run out of DEF! I suspect DEF and SCR's are on their way of being eliminated altogether. After all, more than 90% of diesel pollution was eliminated between 1992 and 2008! |

Had never been in an electric car until two weeks ago. Me and a friend test drove a TESLA Y for about 30 minutes. The car was exceptionally quiet, rode great, was really quick for a base model (about $45k) and we came away impressed. The regenerative braking was weird and would take some getting used to, and the self driving feature was incredible, albeit somewhat scary. It drove us the first mile from the dealership to a COSTCO parking lot. It did as good as I could have, including signalling to change lanes and the graphics on the screen were just perfect showing all the cars and trucks around us. Amazing technology.
Would I but one? Maybe at some point, but from a major manufacturer like GM or Hyundai with a larger dealer network. If my wife was still working it would be perfect.
