Radio issues

Hi my radio loses sound for a second multiple times per song. It does it in fm, android auto, and Bluetooth. No other glitches. Does it when sitting in park as well. I tried to rule out different conditions. I also tried the soft reset with the home button and ff button doesn't seem to work. Any suggestions before I disconnect the battery cable next? Thanks

is the car bone stock? is it volume dependent (meaning it cuts out when the volume is up but not when it's quiet)? Any work done in the doors or glove box area?

It has cai, exhaust, hp tune recently, e85. Have not done anything near the glove box. I do have gauges wired to the fuse box under the hood. The volume goes to no sound for a split second. Almost like losing reception. But it does it across all media no glitch in the screen when this happens. I plugged in today and scanned found a rear view mirror code not active.

Does it do this when the radio volume is low? And it is pretty constant if it's multiple times per song? Usually, temporary muting is a protection circuit in the amplifier from a slight short circuit between the amplifier and speakers. Sometimes at the speaker if there is slight damage to the speaker terminal.

Hi thanks for the response. Yes it does it when the volume is low or high. It doesn't do it exactly the same it might mute 2 times almost back to back then maybe 2 minutes in between. I did disconnect the battery for 30 minutes yesterday didn't change anything. I went into the radio and ended all the running apps still no change. I did put a tune file in a day or 2 before. Dont know how that would effect the radio.

Similar concern with the other thread in this sub, how old is the battery and are we seeing voltage drop AT the audio system amplifier? Grounding at the amplifier, battery, and alternator/engine block are also worthy of investigating.

I was just reading that post as well. I will check the battery tomorrow. As well as the grounds. I did do a factory reset on the radio, checked the fuses for any loose ones. Still the same. Thanks. Will take any suggestions i can get. Is the amp in the trunk on the left. Can't seem to find a location when I look it up.

The Bose systems puts the amp in the trunk well. The basic system has the amp in the dash, next to the glove box.

So this morning I checked the battery it was at 12.3 volts car off. I replaced the battery with a AC Delco. Checked all the grounds in the trunk. I checked the grounds on the back of the heads. And the one by the front fuse box. I saw a few post about adding additional grounds because of issues. So I ran another ground from the engine to the ground lug. Then another in the trunk. Still no change. I pulled the plugs out of the amp and pushed back in. I did notice today for the first time that the 2 door speakers just sound like subs only. No real sound. 3 front speaker are crystal clear and the 2 in the quarters are clear.

Any other thoughts? Today I replaced the AMP with a new Bose from the dealer. Still no change.

Well found the problem. After a highway drive yesterday I noticed everytime I would let off the throttle and it went into fuel cut off the sound would act up. Never under acceleration. I installed the dragon fire coil packs and wires about 2 months ago. I installed the old OE ones and problem resolved.
