Transmission Service Schedule
I just bought a 2023 2SS automatic trans, 6.2 liter, low milage. In looking at the book, they do not list a transmission service schedule for normal operation. They say under high stress use, service the trans at 72,000 miles.
I have a Nissan Titan V8 that Nissan does not have a transmission service schedule. It's supposed to be lifetime of the vehicle. It's at 179,000 and doing fine, never had an issue, and it tows trailers periodically. So what do most of you guys do? Do you service it or let it go? I think I have the 10 speed automatic. Thanks |

WELCOME!!!
Tell us more about your plans for your 2SS and how many miles are on the car now? Are you planning to take it to COTA? If you are tracking the car, most definitely change the fluid to the Amsoil fluid as it makes a massive difference in cooling. Tell me more and I can share a video to give you more insight as to how to care for your transmission. LMK if I can help and feel free to email me anytime! #ZL1 #1LE #A10 Transmission ULV Fluid Change with @AMSOILinc Racing Synthetic #ATF |

I don't track my car and have no plans to, but I do like to do high speed runs every so often. I think 25K-30K flush intervals would be reasonable and is what I plan to do. I just wish it were easier to do it myself as I don't trust dealers.

Once they get past a certain mileage of zero service (your Titan is probably close) DO NOT service it. The little bits of metal that have become part of your fluid give it enough friction to keep it going for the last leg of its life. If you change the fluid the metal bits are no longer in it, and your trans will likely stop working as there is no longer the friction needed to keep the now worn out trans functioning. |

Mine is a 2023 2SS convertible. It only has 6,800 miles on it, and I plan to keep it low milage if possible. Not interested in racing, but who knows, I might take it once to a drag strip just to see what time it will do. I just wanted a fun car since I'd never had one. I hope to keep it in good shape and not drive it a ton. It won't be my daily driver, so maybe it will have value as a collector someday. I know a lot of folks hold to the idea of servicing transmissions regularly.........the old GM maintenance schedules from years ago were to service them every 36,000 miles or so. But I've also heard of folks leaving them and them lasting several hundred thousand miles. My Nissan has 179k with no service and has never missed a beat. When do you guys service yours? |

Just changed the diff fluid, brake pads myself, and had the dealer do the trans service at 47k. I just follow the severe service since i hit the drag strip a few times a year.
*45,000 miles is trans and diff under severe schedule
