Blackwing brake ducts and bushings

I picked up the Blackwing brake duct kit with the intention of preserving brakes via lower temps during track days. I noticed that the smaller heat shield in the front and the shield cutting required in the rear would expose the rubber control arm bushings to direct radiant heat coming off the rotors. Wondering if anyone who has installed these and ran several track days has experienced bushing degradation requiring replacement.

I have recently made the switch to the small "track shield" after installing the BW air deflectors and have run 3 track days with no noticeable issues to the bushings. That's not many days yet, but several others who have done many days with the track shields (and either the SS or the BW deflectors) over the years don't seem to have reported any issues, so I think you should be safe.

Maybe MSquared or Luan will speak up and add their experience.

Sorry, I don't run the Blackwing ducts. I am using the 84433357 front ducts only, and I have noticed no problems so far. I'm not sure how different they are from the Caddy ducts.

Cool

I am assuming you all are running SS1LE cars which do not have the same brake and hub shields as the ZLE.

I have the blackwing ducts and ran those for a year with zero issues before adding sealed 2" silicon ducts that feed pressurized air from the front of the car directly to the hubs. These hoses originally hit the Blackwing ducts, so I cut the top off the BW ducts to keep the scavenging of airflow towards the brakes as a whole.
