Small Coolant Leak

I noticed this past Saturday a smell of antifreeze and checked my fluid levels. It was a little low so I topped it off and drove back home from Chesapeake VA to Raleigh NC. The entire ride home the temp was normal no issues with it overheating. Drove it to work today and back home same thing. The difference today was I drove to work and no coolant smell but when I stopped off to get gas on the way home I did smell it. I pulled the little plastic cover off over the radiator and looked down between the fan and radiator and I can see small pools of coolant. Nothing is leaking on the ground though and I didn't see any running down from the radiator. Not sure where it could be coming from.

Here's a crappy picture of what I saw though.

You have a lot of hoses with coolant running through them. Between the radiator, aux radiators (look at the octopus of hoses that connect all that sometime lol), oil cooler, etc there’s a ton of different areas the leaks can come from. Sorry for the good news lol

Yea once I get my truck back on the road the PC is coming off and I will be checking all the hoses and such. Since I have the factory airbox kit 1 of the aux rads is gone and I had to reroute that coolant line. Might be good to check that and all the others.

My water pump had a small leak that was fixed under warranty. But small amounts of coolant still disappear. I'm not sure I've ever seen a pic of a Camaro engine bay with the top coolant reservoir full.

lol

I notice that as well, mine's full, but I check it every time I drive the car. I've had a faint whiff of coolant since new, now at 87000.
Have to add maybe an ounce or two every few months, keep the lower right at a line on the tank when cold. Add when needed, seems like three or four times a year have at pour in two or three oz.

Found the issue and will just change out the clamp circled. I don't see any issues with the hoses but I find it kind of weird there are 2 T fittings right beside each other.

Glad you found it! I have a similar issue and have not been able to see where's it's leaking.

The pic is really zoomed in, but was the problem at the water pump connection clamp?

Mine is full. The overflow (lower half of upper tank) vents to atmosphere, so it needs to topped up periodically. If the overflow runs dry, the fluid level in the upper half of the tank will start to drop over time. It's an odd design. My guess is that most people don't even no the overflow is there and just assume they're good if there's fluid in the upper part of the tank.

No this line runs along the bottom of the radiator where there are plastics T fittings. The small line running into the fitting on the right is where its leaking from. That's what the picture is of. Once I get the pc off I can take a better picture.

Here you go some better pictures. First one circled where it was leaking the second one is the after replacing all the clamps on that T fitting.

I did all that and the issue was the radiator. So changed that out and all is well now but man the cost and the process of changing the radiator I don't want to have to do that again.
