Camshaft Position Sensor

Has anyone replaced a camshaft position sensor? I keep getting P0340 after a recent stage 4 build so I’m going to try a new sensor. Just trying to see if it’s an easy replacement that I’ll be able to manage at home / where the sensor is located?

Thanks!

I had the same code when my oil pump was installed. Found out that the male and female end of the connectors had coolant in it even though the connections were protected.
I blew it out the coolant with some air and QD electronic cleaner. Cleaned it out about three times to make sure. Cleared the code and it was fine after that.

I did buy a sensor just in case, so now I have that sitting in my spare parts bin.

Did you get to that from above or below? The connector on the bottom right side(if looking at engine from front) red tab on it and it sits vertical?

I just grabbed a sensor too but I’ll try cleaning this connector first, grabbed a can of compressed air as I don’t have anything else lol. Did you just have to remove the intake elbow to access or or anything else need to come off?

I did remove my intake elbow to make things easier when I had done mine.

Sorry I forgot about the belt. lol Well since your looking at your belt, how is the condition? I bought a Green belt and installed it and kept my stock one in my trunk for just in case.
