the manifold needs to be shaved and tapped for a brake booster fitting. Map extension as you've stated. Yes you will need an adaptor unless your LT5 manifold has been port matched and the LT5 TB has had the holes modified. Katech now offers an adaptor that you don't have to modify the TB. They offer a straight 95 for port matched manifolds and a 95 to 87 for non ported. To my knowledge, the only time you need the straight 95 adaptor is to correct the bolt pattern. So if the holes have been modified on the TB and the opening has been ported on the manifold then its not necessary.

If you find an X pipe or axle back it can be whatever fits the car. Stainless works, Corsa, AWE, Speed engineering ect.

Yea cause I spoke with my tuner and he said if I had kooks catted headers only kooks x pipe would work but the price doesn’t seem worth it

Why are you looking at just kooks? If I didnt find a set on the for sale section I was going to buy speed engineering.

The thing is I already have kooks headers installed and with cats with the rest of exhaust stock but it’s kinda of quiet that’s why I was asking if I had to stick with kooks for the rest of exhaust cause I prefer something better priced like speed engineering x pipe and MBRP axle back but idk if it would work out

Kooks and ARH are American made and the quality is generally much more consistent. Quite a few complaints about Speed Engineering ones over the years. Sometimes they work out but often times they have fitment issues. Worth springing the money for quality ones in my humble opinion. Buy once, cry once.

Okay so I also have a 2017 Camaro not anywhere near as fast as yours but let’s say I went with kooks x pipe would I have to remove my kooks cats and buy connection piece?

I’d talk to Kooks lol…

I’m pretty sure they make a system that will all fit together based on their headers so if you’ve already got Kooks headers and cats, this should be a pretty easy process for you if you stay with their stuff.

I totally missed the part in your original post where it said you have kooks headers. I think kooks uses a different slip fitting than everybody else so definitely talk to them about that.

If you're looking for straight DIY bolt-up, you'll probably have to stick with Kooks systems to get their mid pipe bolted up. After the midpipe, you should be able to use any axleback you want. Some pipe trimming may be required for fitment. Beyond that, any reputable exhaust shop can make you a midpipe that will fit any muffler setup you buy, and likely fit better.

Phastek sells a DIY install kit, everything you need to get the LT2 installed properly on a LT1. If you're not looking to DIY, you can send it to GPI to get prepped and/or ported. They also offer TB options. Your adapter needs will depend on the throttle body you decide to go with, but for the LT5 TB just a 95mm to 87mm, Soler sells one. If you're porting the LT2 snout, you'll need a different adapter.
