I daily my Camaro and I agree with you that it's difficult to take it easy. I guess it's lucky for me that there's a fair amount of traffic during my daily commute. If the roads were wide open it might be more difficult.
It's almost 2 years since I bought it and I still love it. Usually, I get tired of a new to me car fairly quickly, but it hasn't been that way. |

I think that is what I will try to convince myself to do. I’ve got a few more years before I can retire… too bad you can’t get on Medicare until 65…LOL. If it wasn’t for health care my butt would be retired now.

mine is sitting at about 63k miles, and sees about 200 miles a week commuting all year, and i love it...it always feels special. granted, sometimes it feels like a waste when traffic is really congested but that's probably because i'm miserable in anything when there's a lot of traffic. i drive it everywhere in just about any weather. really hoping to do some bigger road trips with it in the coming years. love hopping into it after a long day at work, putting the windows down, and letting the V8 thunder along.
i purposely chose an LT1 to keep the car as basic as possible for ease of maintenance and less complexity, and wanted the fluids to get up to temp easily. its basically a total stripper outside of a sunroof and the NPP exhaust, which is fine with me. it'll stay mostly stock, as it sits now its more than enough to get plenty stupid on the street. probably a super unpopular opinion here but i don't know if i'll bother to go with wider tires any time soon, its really entertaining to be able to kick the tail out a little here and there with a lower grip limit. maybe just softer performance tires will be enough. yeah the paint has some chips and battle scars, the doors are too damn long, and the trunk opening is silly. but that's a small price to pay to smile every day in my opinion.

Wider wheels/tires are worth it for handling (curvy roads, road course, auto x, etc.) and for driving without TCS/ESC - It transforms the car. Don't worry, it will still be REALLY easy to hang the a** out. |

i love to hit the corners and can definitely feel the limitations there, so i'll keep your feedback in mind...although i think i'd want to go with a square setup to maintain my tire rotation ability and a bit more front grip. and there's no denying it would get off the line easier with more width in the back too.

I daily mine. Bought it November 1st last year. So far I've put 11,300 miles on it. I love it but hate that the miles are racking up.

obviously in town that drops fast, but when i bought this thing i knew what i was in for and budgeted accordingly. if i was going to be in heavy stop/go traffic i would have looked at either a different car or different work situation lol.

Ironically, if I feel the need to save gas money I now drive my Camaro. I used to daily a hybrid but I daily a truck now haha. Fortunately I don’t drive that much. It’s about $100 every 4 weeks to fill up my truck.

My 2017 will be 9 years old next month. Got it August 15 of 2017. I'm about to turn 95K miles. We have two cars but don't always go in the same direction so I drive it a lot. Also made three trips to CamaroFest.
