New member introduction
Hi all! I just joined the forum today as I am taking delivery of my first Camaro on Monday the 14th. I've been dreaming of a Camaro since high school and finally decided to take the plunge about a year and a half ago. I have been looking on and off but finally found one I couldn't pass up. It's a 2023 2SS Convertible with about 10K miles on it. Options include MagRide suspension, Recaro seats, 20" Gloss Black Wheels with red stripe, red seat belts, red calipers and Suede steering wheel/shifter. I do not have pictures yet but wanted to introduce myself. Also, it's an auto, but I don't have much of a choice. A lifetime of sports has left me with a wrecked left knee and a recently reconstructed right shoulder... I can't reliably shift anymore. My 2020 Gladiator was my first auto in about 30 years and while I really miss bangin' gears, I'm really glad modern autos work as well as they do. Never as much fun as 3 pedals, but still fun.
I'm 52, live in Northern Michigan and really have no business owning a sports car other than I've wanted a Camaro for as long as I can remember. I am and always have been a Jeep guy, and won't be getting rid of the two (2019 Wrangler JL and 2020 Gladiator currently, more than I can count in the past) I've got between my Wife and I. I almost bought one when the Gen5 was introduced, but Life and a Divorce nixed that. Since then, Life has improved, finances have improved and I decided it was time to scratch that itch, especially with 2024 being the last year of the current Camaro. I spent a bit over a year looking at different cars. I was only interested in a convertible with very low miles and wanted the MagRide, but other than that I was pretty flexible. Just the drop top and suspension was a very hard combo to find. Lo and Behold, Carvana serves me up the perfect vehicle, with several other really nice options for a pretty fair price (I think, at least). Wham, Bam, Thank you Ma'am.... 1:34 AM on 7/1, I hit buy, go through their financing and send them a down payment. Set-up delivery for 7/4. Hit a snag with my bank (10 digit account #'s vs the required 13-digit account numbers or something) on the down payment so I had to delay delivery until the 14th. Now, it's just a waiting game, these extra ten days are feeling longer than the last year, lol. I was very patient finding the car, but now I want it baddd! |

The camaro should be a good addition to the garage, as your jeeps leave you on the side of the road you will have a reliable car at home.
Haha im just kidding. Welcome to the club. |

Welcome to the forum. You're never too old to own a Camaro. Old is a state of mind. I'll be 67 in a few months and bought a new '22 three years ago.

Dugzilla, you have chosen very well.
to the forums and let us know how you like your new Camaro once it gets delivered.5 days down, 5 to go, and you'll be happy as can be This is the most advanced Camaro ever made, you'll appreciate the ride, the power, the agility despite its weight, the nice electronic gizmos on the 2SS, everything, and the car being a convertible, you'll just laugh at any visibility complaints I'd make sure to have someone familiar with the car check it out upon delivery, just in case. There are a few "new car delivery checklist" threads here where you'll find a ton of info on what's worth looking over (use a proper search engine and append "site:camaro6.com" to your search text, the forum's built-in search is a giant pile of ****).

Welcome to the forum Dugzilla.
This forum has a lot of good info. If you haven't already, you may want to check this thread Unofficial Build Numbers 2020-2024 In the 2023 spreadsheet, you can find the info on your camaro including a link to the window sticker

I actually own and run a Power Sports (ATV, SxS, Motorcycle) dealership so am very familiar with buying and selling vehicles on the regular. This is the first used vehicle I've ever bought for myself without seeing it, so I'm a little wary, but I've heard mostly good things about Carvana and the pictures look awesome. After I take it to my buddy's place to get in on the rack, it's coming in to my shop for a complete inspection either way. |
