The Included Tire Sealant Works

Last night, I had a date with a woman. Ten minutes after picking her up, we hit something, on the Interstate. Neither of us saw it, but we heard it. Within seconds, I could feel it losing air. We were in the far left lane, so I started working my way across the five lanes to get off on the next exit. As we went, the warning came on saying the front driver tire was losing pressure. It was dropping quickly, roughly a PSI, per second. By the time I got off the exit, it was at 0. I was pretty sure I had ruined the tire and probably my (bought used) ZL1 wheel. There was a small, private access road, so I drive to there.

It was all the way flat, but the tire is so short, it looks like there is some air in it, even when it’s empty.

She helped me get the kit out and get everything hooked up, even though it was over 90*F out and I told her she could just stay in the A/C. She isn’t the type of woman who sits idly by.

As soon as we started the compressor, white cream started shooting out of the middle of the tread. We got lucky. Where we stopped, the valve stem was near the top and the hole was at the bottom. The pressure started building and she said she thought I should pull it forward a bit, so we could see the hole. Pic is after it was rolled forward.

We were 15 minutes late to our dinner reservation, but it held pressure. We spent three hours, at the restaurant, and came out to a tire still holding 28 PSI. After that, we drove around 30 miles (never over 60 MPH), before I took her home, approximately eight hours after we out the sealant in.

I then started my 100 mile journey home. At 60 MPH. the bottle says not to go over 50 MPH, but it held 27 or 28 PSI, the whole way. Made it without issue, even though it’s never taken that long to drive home, before. Today, it’s still holding.

Does anyone know the best place to get a replacement bottle?

No idea why the pics are sideways…..Kind of fits, I guess.

Hopefully you didn't read the instructions in front of her. Nothing more manly than knowing how to fix anything without instructions

Tried it once, complete fail. Gunked up air valve, sticky crap everywhere and didn't seal or inflate tire afterwards. Back up plan is slime pro tire plug kit. Fortunately not raining, but it was like 100*F and on side of 6 lane highway. Those few minutes felt like hours.

Thank you, for the part number.

I got the tire repaired, today. From early Friday morning, when I got home, to today, the PSI went from 28 down to 14.

The inside of the tire looked fine, other than the hole and the juice. After toweling the juice out, they used a combination plug/patch. The tech did all of the steps to make sure it holds. I won’t use it on the track, but it will be fine for putzing around public roadways.
