Paper tags

They killed off paper tags here in Texas this month. Now when you buy a car you have a metal tag issued on the spot.

When I lived in Austin, I would ALWAYS avoid those ugly cars with paper tags expired three years ago. You know damn well they don't have insurance, registration, and most likely not even a driver's license.

Surprisingly, one of the reasons why they’re trying to get rid of paper tags is because shoplifters steal them from cars and put them on their own cars when they go out to steal. They run out with a shopping cart full of merchandise, the store employees have no tag number to give the authorities. It’s been a widespread issue.

Better than all the Altima’s with paper tags, I’m sure someone will find a way in the future to avoid paying liability insurance

I have a paper tag that is registered to me and not a car. It's similar to a dealer tag. Its so i can put it on cars im working on that dont have valid registration. I wonder if i will be issued a metal version.

Washington State switched to a printed plastic type paper that's waterproof and goes in the normal spot for a license plate and took away the paper tags that they would always tape in the back window. Those drove me absolutely nuts because the tape always left residue.
