love my sunroof, wouldn't buy one without it - for cruising. always open unless it's raining. just press a button, no taking off panels and putting them in the trunk.

I 1,000,000 percent agree!! . The roof line on the coupes with no sunroofs definitely add character to them! I love mine without the sunroof!

Hardly ever used it on my previous 2SS so now don't have one on my ZL1.

My SS that I had to find out of state had every option I wanted on my order sheet at my local dealer, except it came with a sun roof. Honestly, I love it. I wouldn't have ordered the car with one but the wife likes it when we're cruising. I never found the sun to be an issue with the built-in shade.

The sunroof is one option I would have got had I had the choice. I am torn though, the roof look/complexity is a nice bonus to not have it. I've enjoyed them and T-Tops and previous cars I've had though, so I know I'd use it. However, my car has other niceties I wasn't going to order as well, so I'm happy my car is the way it is.

The car I was going to order (Only the differences):
LT1
Sunroof
Bose Stereo

Car that showed up while I was ordering and changed my mind:
1SS
No Sunroof
No Bose (Obviously)
1LE Package

Was a bit more money but I reeeeeally liked the other improvements the SS 1LE had over the LT1. Coupled with the fact it was delivered during my ordering process, no one had driven it yet, and it was so close to my order except for what I listed. Glad I "jumped the gun" and ended up with a better car (albeit...no sunroof )

Would never own a car without a sunroof again. Or better yet, a convertible...

No sunroof for me, I prefer the extra headroom.

Sunroof?

Previous cars I have owned with sunroofs have been opened less times than I can count on one hand. I typically look for cars without them. But then I usually have a convertible when I want sun.

I have never had a sunroof on any of my many Camaros.

Interesting discussion. I've had a sunroof on both my 6th gens, and honestly prefer the smooth roofline. Won't say I hate the reverse mohawk, and I'd own one, just prefer it smooth. I use the sunroof whenever I can, but typically keep it closed from 10a to 5p, or around that time. Just too hot when the sun is right over head. I strongly prefer having it, but for the right car, I could go without.

What’s this group’s opinions on sunroofs?

I have a 2022 Camaro LT1 on order at 2000 status. I ordered it without the sunroof, and I’m guessing it’s too late to change it. But my thoughts are as follows:

1. I live in south Florida, and I had a sunroof on my last car, an Infiniti Q50. I opened it maybe 2-3 times and then kept it closed with the shade closed for the rest of the time I owned it. It seemed to only make the interior into a sauna during the day with the shade open, and I always felt like driving around with it, something would drop in through the roof. Bird poop, rain, etc. never really had any desire to use it. But so many people seem to NEED one, I am not sure what I would be missing. I drive around town with the windows open, and on the highway I close the windows.

2. I feel like the double-bubble “reverse Mohawk” roofline of the 6th-generation Camaro is a key design element that goes back to other Chevrolet sports cars. My C6 Corvette Z06 has it and it’s such a fantastic part of the car’s shape, I don’t want to give it up.

3. Modern sunroofs are not like the t-tops of old, they don’t really leak and aren’t prone to problems. But still, it would be another thing I’d be paranoid about if the car is sitting in the rain. Did I forget to close the sunroof? Is it cracked open a bit? Will it leak?

4. I’m relatively short, only 5’10, so headroom isn’t a concern either way.

5. Obviously my Z06 doesn’t have a sunroof, and neither does my Foxbody Mustang, and I can’t say I miss it.

As for “performance”, chassis stiffness, weight, and weight distribution, I don’t think any of those are affected enough and I don’t want to argue those points. It’s a daily driver, I doubt it’ll make enough of a difference in those factors for me to ever notice.

What am I missing here? Feels like everyone wants a sunroof.
What would have been awesome is if they could have engineered a 'MoHawk' style sunroof.

Except for freeway driving, I use the sunroof all the time, which in these parts is mid-April May to mid-October. Not having one isn't a dealbreaker, but having one is a tiebreaker.

Ive got to be honest, Ive had three cars with sunroofs. And I never once used it on any of them. Windows down sure, but the sun directly cooking me from above never appealed to me lol.
