Just wanted to share the test fit of the new JLT Performance / S&B Filters #ZL1 #1LE CAI is a SUCCESS!!!! This new system is revolutionary for the ZL1 to actually get COLD AIR into the engine with a much smoother & greater flow than the RotoFab Big Gulp!
Check out this video short and the photos so you know, there is an alternative for your car! Best Yet... it seals perfectly to the hood with my 3.5" hood scoop drop brackets and the rain guard removed!! It requires no modifications to the hood or any additional parts for a perfect sealed fit! See for yourself!! https://www.youtube.com/shorts/T1nGetWS1nI See the hood seals perfectly outside the scoop! The JLT Filter is pictured to the left of the RF Big Gulp filter. |

Very cool set up! Do you plan on doing any before / after dyno testing?
That filter looks way bigger

David, if you do a video of a tuned JLT 5” installed vs a tuned Big Gulp installed on a dyno it will take off. If it’s better I’d just as soon get one of them vs making an adapter to close off the Big Gulp. I just don’t want to drop the money if it doesn’t at least maintain the power level.

Awesome. Happy to see these finally hitting the market. It looks much better designed than the rotofab.

The dyno between a RFBG and the JLT will have to be for someone else to do. I sold both my Baby RF and the Big Gulp, purchasing this JLT kit simply to protect my engine and headlamp from stones being thrown at the air filter during the GridLife CMP track battle event. I will say dyno tuning with the JLT will be easier due to the lack of turbulent airflow and the location of the MAF being in a smoother pathway, not just dangling in a wide area of a tube. The tests already performed by S&B Filters of the JLT design showed a 16% increase in airflow alone with the No Tune smaller air inlet compared to the Baby RF intake and a 29HP gain. That's huge... so honestly with all the benefits, I could care less if it makes more power, my engine is safer with zero debris and that's enough for me to make the switch. |

JLT filter is huge and that’s been my biggest beef with the Rotofab Big Gulp. My wife’s stock 5.0 has a Corsa CF CAI and the filter is bigger than the one on my car that makes over twice the horsepower. Glad to see some competition is finally coming to market.

Do the before/after with the hood closed and lets really see the differences. Definitely looking forward to this.

Great! I am one of the few folks on the forum that advocates for a Stock Airbox with the Green Filter as being the perfect set up. I am a track rat as well.
The stock airbox completely seals the air filter/intake from under hood temps. Generally, more air sounds good until you realize you are handicapped by the stock ECU tune and intake air ratio. |
