Yeah was stupid, rotofab definitely better quality. I put it around unclamped and somehow was able to screw it closed. But I mean like very last rung.

I haven't installed mine as yet. I've been sitting on a Katech 103mm TB and I've been debating with myself about whether I should install it with my current mods (headers to be installed next week).

I've made a recent shift to having a lot more focus on drag racing and my daily driving isn't really all that demanding.

I'm thinking I should go ahead and install the JLT w/the 103 TB. Not seeing a downside.

Did anyone ever test to see if there is a KPA difference between the rotofab and the 5" JLT intake? My car has 99kpa up till 5k rpms, drops to between 99 and 98 between 6k rpm and from 6k to 6800 rpms it bounces up and down from 98.5 to 97.5 KPA and i'm wondering if the JLT will help?

Cool I love the JLT!!

I dumped both of my RotoFab Intakes as they contributed to the stones being thrown into the airbox, headlamp and ruining of several airfilters with zero protection from the underside of the air filter. My RotoFab NEVER sealed to anything other than hot air... reminds me of my EX!

I love the JLT... sure they are going through some teething and as a manufacturer, I understand there can be some issues with HUMANS and production.

I like that it comes with BOTH intake tubes and when I finally get everything back together, I will make another install video to help everyone figure out how the rubber seal, clamps and more can be adjusted to fit perfectly. Remember, this is a Thermo-plastic molded part... so if it doesn't fit perfectly, you're just a glove, bucket of water and a heat gun away from perfection.

Mine fit perfectly out of the box with my hood scoop brackets at a full 3.5" of drop.

I m still puzzled about the after market cold air intakes, especially for the ss. What is very interesting is that Chevy designed one airbox and used the same air filter for both zl1 and ss. We all know the forced fed zl1 requires so much air than the na ss. If stock box and filter can flow that much air, what is really the limiting factor of the stock airbox on a naturally aspirated ss? Even the throttle body sizes between the zl1 and ss are the same.

Exactly the opposite for me...drilled the first tube wrong for maf...sent me a new one...box too big i couldn't shut hood....sent me a new one...new box so tight in the filter area I couldn't get the tube in the filter with all of the intake OUT of the car...dumb design...have to remove whole intake to recharge filter...very unlike s&b which i run in my truck...sent that hot mess back....

Also I shouldn't have to mod a brand new intake...I mean I will but im not paying full price to finish fabbing it...

Well it looks like S&B ghosted me on my issue with the JLT v2 airbox fitment issue.

After a few emails and waiting for a couple months, they sent me a new intake box. It just showed up one day, no emails, nothing. Looks like they just cut one up from the "bad" batch, as it still doesnt sit right. The hood closes now, but its still not like the original one they were selling. It works, but I cant use it my hood scoop brackets. I feel would mess up the product by heating it up. I'm not super happy with the product, but nothing else I can do. If there is anyone out there that can modify these boxes, please lmk. Il gladly pay a fee to get adjusted. It is dumb that I have to go through all these hoops just to get the original advertised product. I won't be buying JLT again! I would steer clear untill they fix their product.
