Staggered setup for 2017 v6 RS?

I am getting a good marketplace deal for 4 tires with staggered setup - my stock size is 245/40/20 - the staggered rear tires come with rims which were on a 2015 2ss - 275-40-r20

Meh, I'd just save the money for 1LE sized wheels / tires. So worth the upgrade.

I recently upgraded to 1LE wheels on my SS. It was well worth it. It looks awesome and I now rarely see the traction control light. Grip for days in corners. Well worth it. I've concluded that the car should have come this way from the factory...and it could have but mine is a daily and a 1LE car at the time seemed like overkill.

I would go with SS size wheels on a V6 if they are a good deal. I have them on my turbo 4 and the 1LE wheels are heavier and tires more expensive and not necessary at our power level.

I would consider buying some OEM SS rear wheels on eBay that will fit 275 or 285 width. Perfect for the V6 power and will fill in that rear wheel better than the skinny 245.

Check your offset on the fronts putting Gen 5 rims on gen 6, make sure you're not hitting the strut. But yes you can put SS rims on the RS with the LGX, I had no issues when I did.

1LE wheels are slightly lighter (a pound or two iirc) than SS wheels especially since they’re forged instead of cast. The tires being more expensive is true

Am I reading the OP correctly: the rear tires he's planning to get are 275/40/20? If so, that's likely to be a problem because they are 28.7" in diameter. That's way taller than any tire that's ever come OE on any 6th-gen Camaro, and it may cause issues with interference. It will also handle and stop worse. It may also cause a problem with the ABS and Stabilitrak if it's way taller than the fronts. What size are the fronts in this set of tires?

For reference, all 6th-gen Camaro SSs have come with 275/35/20 rear tires, which are 27.6" tall, and those along with the 245/40/20 tires that came on the OP's car (and on the front of 6th-gen SSs) are the tallest tires installed on any 6th-gen.

I didn’t notice that, looks like OP is getting these off a 2015 SS so 5th gen specs. I ran 5th gen SS wheels on my 6th gen LT and it worked but swapped to 6th gen SS wheels due to some abnormal ride feel back then, my car came with 18’s originally

To be clear, 5th-gen wheels will probably work fine on a 6th-gen. 5-th-gen tire sizes probably will not.
