Carbon Fiber hood pins

So I’ve been having an issue with getting my hood pins to reach my hood
In a decent spot. They’re about 1.5-2” too short wherever I try.

Has anyone successfully ran a CF hood without pins for an extended time?
I am running the stock latch, which seems to work good. Just curious if I should just bag the pins and stop stressing about them.

all the sites that sell carbon fiber hoods say they are recommended.

the hoods are lighter and can flex at high speeds the pins help hold the hood from accidently blowing open and hitting your windshield.

also what hood pins did you get? because all the ones i have seen are way longer than whats needed

I have the quick-latch style. They’re 4” long pins and are too short.
The only place that makes since is mounting thru the core support for te radiator. That is an 1” thick, then the molded support on bottom of hood is 3-4” thick until the skin of hood.

Yep, that’s what I did. . 4” Pins are about an inch too short. They don’t even reach bottom of hood even. I have found some longer pins, so we should be good.
Thank you

Can you share which link where you ordered the hood pins? I’m having same issue … it “ works” but not ideal as pin is little short

I need 5” hood pin.
