For this reason and due to ZR1 halo effect that should increase post the initial model year, I think the 2026+ C8 will be more sought after than earlier model years, which is the norm after all (the botched Camaro redesign in 2019 was an exception).

I have both the C8 and SS m6. I can honestly say the SS is more fun to drive because of the “rawness” factor and the SS is much more tunable and cheaper vs the c8. For the price of a C8 Borla exhaust, I can get long tubes, E85 plus install for the SS.
Don’t get me wrong, the C8 is fun to drive too but the SS has the RAW to it. |

Thanks for the comments. Is your SS a manual? For me, I don't like the gear ratios in the SS. 1st gear is too high and the rest of the ratios are not set evenly (maybe to help it pass EPA mpg standards). Again I own an S2000 which has close ratio gearing and no computer to nanny it for fuel efficiency. It was probably a "last of the mohicans" type of car. MPG even though it was a 2.0l 4 cylinder is roughly the same as the SS. But when I see the C8 Z06, it seems like a DCT 8 cylinder version of the S2000. 7-8 MPG under real world conditions (when you get on it) which makes sense as it's a 5.5l (670hp) versus the 2.0l (240hp). Maybe it takes the gas guzzler tax to allow this. It's too bad there isn't a way to change out the gear ratios in the C6 Camaro so that they were closer spaced like the S2000 and Z06. I think it would improve the overall feel of the car. I wish I could justify the additional $45k for the Z06 as it seems like a really kick ass version of the C8. I think I'll try renting a base model C8 for a day or two to see if its worth it. Also, regarding storage space for golf / hockey. I am able to fit a hockey bag or 1-2 golf bags in the S2000. For the hockey sticks I put them in the front seat. I would think the C8 is larger than the S2000, so I think I could do the same except for the convertible versions. Just wanted to double check. |

A friend of mine sold his ZL1 and bought a used C8 with 3K mi. He had it 2 months and went back to a ZL1E. He likes to autocross and said the setup to get the C8 to work on the track was a pain.

No way a C8 would work for me as a DD. No room for me to fish offshore or carry anything. Had plenty of room in my 6's and 7's.
