Coupe to Vert Recaros

I have a 23 2SS vert with the adrenaline red seats. I want to swap out to either 2SS or ZL1 Recaros. Preferably ZL1 mainly because of the red stitching.

I have researched as many of the Recaro threads as I can, so I know if I go with 2SS or ZL1, then should be plug n play to maintain heat and ventilation.

Big question is- has anyone actually swapped seats from coupe to vert or vice versa. GM part numbers are different but I see on here where some indicate the seats are the same. My only concerns would be seat belt fitment and airbag functionality. I ask because all of the seats I come across are out of coupes.

So, has anyone actually made this type of swap and if so, any issues to be aware of?

Haven't done the swap, but I can say comparing my coupe and convertible, I see no visible difference.

Only difference is the air bags. The vert don’t have side curtain airbags so my understanding is there are some extra in the vert seats. The bottom seats part numbers are the same but the seat backs are different due to stitching for the air bags to deploy.

The curtain air bags are in the roof, not the seats. Seats have the side bags on all cars.

Pretty sure ZL1 seats will plug and play in the 2SS.

Convertible Recaro Seat Purchase

I am looking at doing custom upholstery in my 2SS convertible. I want buy used Recaros to reupholster and stash the stock seats. Coupe seats are readily available. I see convertible seats are different but I have not been able to identify all the differences if I want to try to convert coupe seats for use in a convertible.

If anyone has compiled a list of parts (or has suggestions to find that info) for convertible Recaro seats, I would like to get a copy of it.

Recaro Coupe to Convertible

After searching Camaro Recaro parts lists, I have concluded there are several components that differ between Recaro coupe and convertible seats. They are:
- Airbags
- Seat back cushions
- Seat back covers
- Wiring harness

The rest of the components appear to be common to both seat styles.
