No problem! I had my BCM enhancement done on March 11th but the website says completed March 13th.

My TCM Recall was done yesterday (28th) and still shows incomplete. Probably a few more days to update

Edit: Shows done on 5/30

But both of mine were done nearly a month ago... BCM shows complete, TCM shows incomplete...

The FAQ on the website says that it can take up to 30 days to be marked as complete.

I just noticed that it doesn't say whether the remedy is available, or unavailable. I'm pretty sure that, in the past, it has said that the remedy is unavailable. Interesting.

I also read in the FAQ that the status INCOMPLETE just means that the recall hasn't been performed yet, not that the recall availability is incomplete.

On my progressive app, it does show if the Remedy is available and I have called my local dealer twice, they are basically just telling me what I see on my end. I just noticed the remedy shows available now and I called the dealer yesterday. The lady said they have done it on couple cars, and should be able to schedule my TCM software recall and I did verify they will update the TCM software with installation.

And AGREE, the Complete or Incomplete only means if the recall has been fixed.

However, there are significant concerns regarding the long-term impact of the valve body design flaw.
This issue is causing gradual and potentially unnoticed damage to the transmission.

The primary concerns are:
  1. Leaky aluminium valves instead of steel
  2. Leaky paper gasket plates instead of metal
  3. Dislodged gasket screens that plug fluid channels
These problems lead to a loss of hydraulic pressure over time, which may result in extensive damage to other transmission components as stated by NextGen Drivetrain.

Given the severity of this issue, would GM have plans to address the long-term consequences by replacing damaged transmission parts caused by this design flaw?

For context, there has been a report of GM replacing both the engine and transmission in a Cadillac sedan following a wheel lock-up incident, which may be relevant to this situation.

I decided to invest in repairing the valve body for several reasons:
  1. To gain peace of mind
  2. To improve the vehicle's performance
  3. To potentially extend its longevity
While the long-term benefits of this upgrade remain to be seen, I believe it's a worthwhile investment.

This decision aligns with the principle that regular maintenance and preventative care are often necessary to preserve an asset's value and functionality.

By addressing potential issues proactively, we can often avoid more significant problems and expenses in the future.
Thank you for your continued support of the Community!!!

A couple questions, please:
  • Is this the pump you used?:
VEVOR Water Transfer Pump, 120V AC 360 GPH 1/10 HP
    https://www.vevor.com/water-transfer...xoC_J4QAvD_BwE
  • Regarding the tranny cooler:
Did you just obtain the fittings for the cooler connections and just add enough hose to collect the old fluid in the drain pan? If you recall - do you remember, either, the sizes or part numbers for the fittings?

I'm sorry for the continued questions, but I plan on jumping into this little project in a couple months and am collecting the remainder of what I don't have so I'll be prepared when I jump under the car.

Thanks again, VERY, much!!!
Chuck

GM Confusion: GM told me specifically because of my engine modifications they cannot cover this valve body with a warranty.

Now I found this which is the extended warranty GM added for the valve body issue.

So which is it GM? And which valve body are they replacing it with? The same defective part, or Next Gen's solution?

We all know the game…next week, next month or perhaps next year, the verbiage will change, based on another lawsuit. Anything from GM goes in one ear and out the other till the dust settles (at least my ears) I’m not getting their ridiculous pressure loss limp mode tune either. It’s not like they had a bad run of window regulators (that would almost would be acceptable) When GM goes they go big…trannies, lifters and camshafts(engines). It’s stunning to hear from non mechanical guys that they’re fully in loop on what’s going on and are pissed. Lasting reputational damage is going to be huge unless they do the right thing(s).
