Yet Another Kill Switch Thread

I've recently acquired a 2017 ZL1 and am looking to install a fuel pump kill switch. While looking through the threads here, I've tried to identify which wire would work as a kill switch and so far I've yet to get one to stick.

So I followed this thread: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=624913

And it still starts right up. There was a smaller (20 gauge) that appeared to also be green and grey. This one disabled one of the sensors up front so that wasn't it (I've now repaired this one).

The 2022 and 2017 electrical schematics for the ZL1 look similar enough in regards to the fuel pump relay.

At this point I'm wondering if I'm just out of my depth or if there is some redundancy I'm just not taking into account.

This morning I tried Grey as well and nothing. Still lights up. I've decided for now to throw in the towel and button everything up before I mess anything else up. I'm still planning on getting additional security measures but was really hoping to have a fuel pump kill switch as one of the layers.

When you say it starts right up, did you let it run? Maybe it takes a few seconds of running to deplete the fuel rail pressure? I use the mobilistics relay and GPS tracking. I didn't want to modify any hard wiring in the car (24 ZL1 CE). I think they also make a fuel pump relay you can turn on and off with a remote too.

Yeah, I would let it run for 10-15 seconds after but to no avail.

Absolutely understand not wanting to modify any hard wiring especially within a warranty window. 2017's are just outside of it and if I didn't void it, the previous owner absolutely did so I didn't have any hang-ups about trying to figure it out myself.

I got a couple of quotes for IGLA and Viper. Haven't talked to anyone about Compustar but it seems near identical to Viper in terms of what I'd be wanting.

Question on the Mobilistics, could you just remove the relay and replace it with the stock one and you're on your way?

Absolutely. You can keep the stock one in the trunk and if the mobilistics one fails you pop in the OEM one. I mean a thief could do that too, but they would have to know what isn't working, and be carrying a OEM spare or know where you keep it. Most of these thefts are by low IQ hoodlums that couldn't troubleshoot their way out of an outhouse. Just another layer of security.

I saw it mentioned a lot over these forums and didn't take that into account. Definitely appreciate the additional layer so, sold.

On its way! Appreciate you good sir.

I'll still keep looking into a fuel pump kill switch as an additional layer.

Just get an IGLA brother. 1500 for the device and install, I wish I would have done it before they got mine. Don't leave it up to chance and don't learn the hard way.

It's absolutely my top priority. Been working with my local guy for an appointment. Until then I'm an anxiety riddled mess, haha.

Just got an IGLA installed last week. After car was recovered from theft and repaired, I just didn't want to take it out and park it. #peaceofmind
