Arrow Fuel Filter + Bracket Kit ?

Hey guys, still stuck with the car on jack stands with no less than (10) separate projects happening on the car. If you follow my thread HERE... you know I am upgrading my fuel system with the Katech dual drop in pump, and the XDI +50%. Anyway, with the need of installing an inline filter, and wanting to clean up the engine bay a little more, I decided to just replace all of the fuel lines with some Raceflux -8 braided. In that process I designed a simple bracket to secure the inline filter under the car, and made a few extra (1) for a friend, and a few more just in case I decided to offer the bracket + filter + clamps as an assembly down that road. That said, what do you think? Do you see any value in offering this as a remote filter package? Retail would only be around $175 for the bracket + -10 ORB filter housing + 10 micron magnetic filer + clamps + hardware...

I still might offer to replicate my entire fuel line kit as a DIY ready package, but for now, just considering the filter + bracket kit...

Thoughts?

That setup looks awesome Gabe! I’m sure there’s definitely demand for a filter kit, or a complete kit with hoses and everything. Would make things a lot simpler for many people.

I would’ve ordered one right away if I wasn’t nearly done with my own setup. Just waiting on a replacement fitting now, figures it started leaking right when I thought I had everything wrapped up!

Let me know how the XDI inj3ctors work for you. 929 to the wheels with a maggie 2650, 416 stoker kit, Katech heads, etc. DI with the XDI didnt work out well. Port injection just installed and waiting for a tune. This is why I have not been able to give you feedback on the bumper and rain guard kits yet. No track time.

My XDI were causing issues above 50% - 70% throttle. Let me know how it goes.

Love your products BTW.

How much E were you trying to run? I’m at 1059 WHP on DI only but had to keep it at E50. I just added port as well so that I can get over 1100 WHP on full E… just need some dyno time.

Way to go bro ! I can't get those WHP numbers as I'm still stock CAM, stock DI and stock heads! But, you all still inspire me to want more WHP! Even with an X-ported blower, and once I added the Katech Dual fuel pump and THPSI Port Injection. I'm able to run full E85 with all the fueling I can use @ +20psi ! Keep up it up !!!

When you say "the need for an inline fuel filter" is this a requirement of the Katech dual pump installation, or something you wanted to do on your own?

That is a Katech suggestion... Speaking to DEATSCHWERKS at SEMA, they also recommend a 5-10 micron filter.

I believe the OEM filter is in the 70-100 micron range, which can cause an issue with Di injectors.

Hey buddy, thank you for the kind words! Sorry to hear about your injector issues. I was told by multiple tuners to use XDI for their consistency. Although no ones consistency is 100%, but they had the best results with them... fingers crossed.

I believe because Katech adds a second filter in the module (bucket), it eliminates the OEM filter that occupies the same space. Because there is no more filter, one needs to be added.

The DSX bucket might do the same thing, because it's architecture isn't that much different than the Katech (billet, opposed to the OEM material), so I'd imagine it would require the addition of a filter, too. I can't remember if their website says anything about it.

Correct, Katech added a filter to mine when they did my fuel system including the Drop-in Dual Fuel Pump. Mine is located on the fire wall, at top/back of blower, their filter also includes (and conceals) my FlexFuel sensor!!!! So looking at my engine bay, my FlexFuel sensor is not visible !

Dave from DSX told me to run an auxiliary inline filter because the stock filter in the bucket gets eliminated to make room for the second pump. So yes, similar to the Katech setup, the DSX dual in-tank also removes the OEM filter, which means you need to add an external one to maintain proper filtration.

Exactly... and I did not like the placement of the Katch solution on the firewall, so I made this bracket to hide under the car
