Warranty about to expire on 2022 SS 1LE - what to look for?

Im thinking of bringing my 2022 SS 1LE 6-speed to the dealer as the 36k / 3 yr bumper to bumper warranty is about to expire in a few weeks, and get the OBDII security patch installed.

That said, should I ask the dealer to examine the car for any warranty issues, and if so is there any particular places you would look? I am thinking the MRC shocks.

I am worried the dealer is going to mess up the car, and its why I never brought the car to the dealer other than the first free oil change. I do all my fluid changes myself.

IMO relocate the OBDII port and stay away from the stealerships unless you have a real issue you want them to work on. Telling them to poke around and find something when no symptoms exist is not ideal. Best case scenario they run your car through their free scratchwash and give it back to you with no issues found. Worst case they drop the car off a lift and/or set it on fire.

GM's security patch isn't worth its salt. Unless you IGLA, hackers will update their software. Simple way to stop most smash and grabs, relocate the OBDII port or remove it entirely. Most thieves won't bother if it's going to take them more than a minute or two. Most won't even open the door. They smash the window, reach down, OBDII port is gone, it's going to take more time to jack, here comes the owner with his .308. It becomes less and less worth the hassle every minute that goes by. Plenty of other Camaro's to smash 'n grab fast.

Battery and water pump were my issues at 3 years... pump had a small leak.

Your MRC shocks should be good for at least twice that mileage or 7-8 years.

I had to replace the idler pulley on my 2018 because it started leaking oil, but that's pretty much it so far. Headlight bulbs and trunk/hood struts are coming up next, which is normal. Okay, the car isn't stock and the engine is deeply modified, stock cats are gone, too, but otherwise it is aging normally.

Your 2022 should be in an even better shape, and you don't have the A8 or the A10 trans with their issues. If you're concerned about the latest mass recall for the L87 engine, there isn't much the dealer will do for you, you can ask if the LT1 and/or your VIN is included, but I bet they'll just say no.

If you are truly worried about long term, you can get a very good aftermarket warranty from companies like Fidelity (not that Fidelity, an other one..)

I got a 10 yr / 100k mileage (from the day / mileage I bought it at) 'bumper to bumper' warranty from Fidelity for $2100 for my '22 ZL1.

Fidelity has been around for decades, and is the "go to" aftermarket warranty for the Porsche crowd. I've gotten a warranty on my '17 A7 (didn't need), '17 911S (sticky waste gate, completely covered, repaired at Porsche dealer), my wife's '16 TT (currently getting water pump replaced and leaking valve cover gasket; covered), and my ZL1 (haven't needed)

I am in no way affiliated with them, but my family used to buy cars at the dealership in RI who has "the guy" that sells most of the warranties on the big Porsche forums, e.g. Rennlist.

If you want more info feel free to reach out, I can put you in contact with a couple different guys that sell them, or you can just Google "Rennlist The Fidelity Platinum Megathread" and read what that crowd thinks.
