There are now 5 Dexos R options (some for $25/5qt)

I checked my store and none had the Dexos R label yet, so I guess this is pretty new, and oddly Mobil doesn't even have this info on their own site.

https://www.gmdexos.com/brands/dexosr/index.html

FS (euro car) 0w-40 is at a lot of Walmarts for $25 for 5 quarts.

ESP X4 fans will be happy to see it on the list also.

I haven't decided yet if I will put this in my ZL1 or not, but would have stuck it in the SS last week if I'd known.

Autozone also has a deal where 5qts is $30 for the ESP X4 right now -

Autozone deal.

My Walmart has the FS (European Car Formula) 0w-40 for $25 for 5 quarts. I doubt it will have the dexos label on it but I might check it out.

Want to hear peoples experience using this formula vs the Supercar 0w-40 oil. If the European formula is as good for the engine as the supercar one is, definitely worth picking it up.
Thoughts?

Just ordered another 10qt of 0W-40 Supercar from Autozone, they have promotions with home delivery that get it down to $10/qt. I've used x3 in the past but since the engine replacement i've just stuck with Supercar and am also sending the samples to Blackstone.

Oil analysis has good lubrication properties even at 10% oil life and Blackstone said an oil change near 0% would be acceptable, for me, 10% is about 6,500-7,000 miles given my highway mileage. Currently sitting at 13% oil life with 6,300 mi, average speed of 42mph and average 24 mpg. I use the Trip B setting for oil, along with a spreadsheet and the Blackstone data.

In another thread here someone mentioned a "new formulation" of FS/Euro that would be SP rated, instead of just SN rated, and POSSIBLY subject to a price change. Just be aware some of old stock on shelves might not be the same as what passes for DexosR.

So... I just bought 10 quarts of this oil. I BELIEVE it is Dexos R even though there's no label.

Funny how much highway miles make a different. That's about double the mileage I do for my interval (~3100 Miles), yet my OLM still is down to about 30-40% by then. (Also don't drive in the winter). Its accuracy impresses me, certainly better then the ones I've had in older cars.

It's discussed in greater detail in other threads, and maybe you already know this, but I believe at some point GM started making the OCI interval linearly go down over a 12 month period, regardless of mileage, or according to mileage, whichever is faster. My old 2017 2500HD L96 Gasser's OIC is strictly mileage, even over 2 or 3 years between OCs. Well, not strictly mileage, also factoring cold starts, and other things, but factors other than TIME since the last OC.

My Camaro OCI reads like 22% left with only maybe 2000 miles on it, coming up 10 months into it. Mostly "highway" miles, driving 70mph on a 35 mile RT to work. We can have a larger discussion about degradation of oil at rest in a crankcase, fuel dilution, crossing the dew point, etc. Personally i think a year or even two is fine with low miles on a quality full synthetic.

I found this at Wal-Mart, today. It’s 5w-40, not 0w-40, but it is SP-rated. No DEXOS label, at all.

You linked 0W-40 ESP x4 which does not have a Dexos cert.

0W-40 ESP x3 does have a Dexos2 cert. Previous threads have discussed that this is the same as 0W-40 Supercar when compared technically.

I've seen Mobil be slow on their website updates. GM is spec'ing the X4 as Dexos R, see link in post #1.

Vato zone had full synthetic Mobile 1 SP-rated European Car Formula 0W-40 this weekend. No mention of Dexos.
