That might have been for the front grill, the rear bumper emblem is simply tape on...

I believe the emblem is NOT on that spot because it is the airbag and it can become a projectile!!!

GM did not want the liability.

I believe the airbag is on the top of the dash. GM makes a carbon fiber piece that can replace that leather piece where that emblem is so that would be a bigger projectile than the emblem if that were the case..

GM sure doesn't want any liability, but this is just a conjecture. They happily glued a Camaro emblem to the middle of the steering wheel airbag, arguably the most important one.

Crazy! I keep finding little things the previous owner did. All of it looks factory.

To their credit, they designed it in a way that on airbag deploy it will always burst through like this.

Now the guys who put a cover on top of that are making a projectile

Here is the GM OEM Carbon Fiber Dash insert, this thing would do FAR more damage than the little emblem if that was the case...

https://wildhammermotorsports.com/16...general-motors

Trust me when I first came up with the idea to put the emblem there I initially had the EXACT same thought, but them I ran across the GM OEM Carbon Fiber Dash Insert and also noticed the Airbag logo on top of the dash and that relieved and & all worries...

I agree and thought about that, too.

Cap't, I love the black strut brace, I put the aluminum colored one on and think yours looks much classier. I must get into the paint booth with mine now
