He ignored 2 pcv valves.
You could make your own setup but do some digging beforehand. Like a lot. The setup he is using will only work when the engine is under boost. So will have no flow or reverse flow when the actual pcv valve that has manifold vacuum is working. ( idle and part throttle ) "normal driving"

I just installed the mishimoto catch can system. How often is everyone emptying their cans?

I empty the catch can when I change the oil (it's the Mishimoto as well). It usually has about one ounce of oil each time.
