Anyone add a dash cam to a mirror mount that has a radar detector already connected

***I have a radar detector mounted on my rear-view mirror with a Blendmount mirror mount, and powered with a Gen5DIY harness to the heater.

I was wondering if anyone has a radar detector and a dash cam on their car's review mirror and how they hooked it up and powered it. The drivers out here are getting crazier with their cutting over in traffic.

(Unless there's a away to get the track cam to function as a daily driver dash camera)

Gen 5 DIY has a harness that will power both. I didn't use the blendmount bc it was too obtrusive for me, but I have them both below the mirror and not taking up my real estate.

I also have Gen5DIY's dual power harness that hooks into the overhead console (OnStar) for the 2016-2018, and it works perfectly, strongly recommended. No visible wiring except for the last two inches or so and the plugs, of course. I used dual sided tape to attach the dash cam to the windshield, while the radar detector is hanging on the Blendmount. The whole setup is nearly invisible from the outside, including the rear dash cam.

Their 2019+ variant connects to the HMI behind the pass side fender, because the overhead console has no juice left after the refresh, so a bit more work to install but it should work just as well.

I see a harness for one or the other, individually, but not both. Each one plugs into the same spot leaving nowhere to plug the second one into.

I guess I could "piggy back" one plug to the other then the heater core, but I wonder if that will cause issues...

You can opt for "extra leads" that can power your dash cam when ordering the radar detector harness, see below. Their product description also mentions this option.
