Which catch can? E2X, MM Wild, or MM Mild?

Trying to figure out which can to go with. I’m interested in the E2X can but Elite’s customer service is terrible. I called them multiple times but it’s goes straight to their voicemail. I sent a couple of emails and someone finally reached out but all of their responses to my questions were vague. I even asked them for an alternative number and they completely ignored my question. Mighty Mouse sounds promising but their can isn’t as efficient as Elite’s can with catching oil……..unless they were lying. If I do decide to go with MM, is there any point in getting the Wild can if I plan to stay under 800whp??

800 WHP is still nearly 950 crank HP. Not exactly mild lol. I’ve been running the MM Wild for years and have no complaints.

I'm swapping to a MM Wild for my current build phase for more HP. I'm selling my E2X Ultra with custom lines, brackets, and venturi. Let me know if you are interested. It worked great except for the o-rings on the PCV block off. I failed to replace those with the stock o-rings as the instructions directed. With stock o-rings, it would have been as good as I expected. See post here:

I've always run MM cans in the past. But I'm probably going with this one for the ease of access/draining.

I started off with the Elite E2-X and switched to the Wild 100PH. I had an issue with after market valve covers not being fully baffled and the EX2. But when I went with the Wild 1000HP it seemed like most of those issues when away. You can see the issues in my build post: Starting at post #50

I only see diesel engines for that.

Ah. Didn't realize this was in the ZL1 section. I'll go back to my lane.

This article, "Comparative Performance of 12 Crankcase Oil Mist Separators" published by SAE International evaluated Catch Cans and Catch Filters using a test apparatus to simulate oil mist from closed positive crankcase ventilation systems.

A catch can or catch filter doesn't care if the source of the oil vapour/mist is from a diesel or gas engine.

To control the pressure and vacuum in the crankcase, insert this Dual Flow PCV valve after the Catch Filter or Catch Can leading to the vacuum created from the intake manifold. Similar installation and setup recommended by Tracy Lewis Performance.

A poorly ventilated crankcase results in a build-up of pressure and moisture along with the creation of acids and sludge. The PCV system if incorrect has the ability to affect all aspects of engine running and performance.

ME Wagner Performance made in the USA, invented the Dual Flow PCV valve to cure engine’s chronic engine oil leaks, in-car oil smell, a non-responsive carburetor or EFI system, idle concerns and prematurely dirty crankcase oil.

Understanding how a PCV valve may be causing your engine’s problems

High Performance PCV Valve Shootout – Flow Test Results of several options including; Breather only, Competitors, Stock PCV, and ME Wagner Performance Dual Flow Valve.

My EE E2 catch can does a great job at separating the oil. I get, about, 2-tea spoons of oil every oil change (I go by the oil life indicator - I get about 9-10 months per interval and that's less than 1000-miles). I've pulled the lid and seen it doesn't, completely, keep a BIT of puddling in the blower itself, but it is MINIMAL. That's running between 16-18-psi of boost.

I'll probably switch to a MM though. I know I'm asking to push a front/rear seal out... It sounds like the venting issues I was worried about with the MM is unfounded from trusted Member input, here, though.

I know this topic has been beat to death, but from my understanding it solely comes down to whether you want to vent to atmosphere or not. If you are looking to have a road course car under 800 WHP, I've been told the E2X is the better choice as it can be dangerous to vent to atmosphere on a road course car, hence why this is what I'm going with.

However, if you want a 900+ WHP monster that is primarily a straight line car, I've been told using an MM-wild and venting to atmosphere is a better solution.

My engine builder was more familiar with the E2X setup so that's what I picked, but I don't think you can really go wrong with either. MM's support seemed much better from what I could tell.
