Sway bars?
Howdy folks,
Just bought some new shoes for my baby, and now I'm looking at some basic suspension upgrades. Getting some coilovers and control arms, and figured I'd upgrade the sway bars while I'm at it. Simple stuff, mod 101, right? WRONG. Apparently there's convertible bracing that gets in the way of aftermarket rear sway bars that are straight. Apparently GM has a convertible sway bar from the ZL1, but it was reported here that this is not thicker/stouter than OEW sway bar. I called BMR for funsies, and they confirmed their rear sway bar won't fit on vert, but some users have apparently cut into their bracing to make it fit; guy on phone said, "I make no comment as to the safety of that approach, but I have my doubts." Any convertible owners here made a sway bar upgrade? Worst-case scenario, worth upgrading front and not back, or should I just stick with OEM and deal with it? |

Yes it's a problem and what you can do to cope with it is install poly bushings on th ebar and upgraded end links.
