Changed the oil, and then found out about the new less expensive Dexos R. What timing.

Didn't have any issues with either of my cars, you might let them know?

Can you elaborate on this?

Finally got rid of the damn 'swim goggles'.

I absolutely hated them. Auto Addict's C8 clones, and the best part is the white LED reverse is at least 50% brighter than the stock ones.

Now I hope they last... considering picking up a spare set.

Had the BCM Recall done....

Slightly dumb question - for the 45k mile service, GM Recommends the following:

1. Manual Transmission Fluid swap
2. Rear Axle Fluid Swap (Differential fluid swap?)

Are these things I could/should easily just go to my local mechanic and have done or is it worth heading to the dealership for any weird GM/Camaro quirks? They quoted me about $500 for items 1+2 above.

I am new to not having a 20yr old car and not having access to a driveway or a lift anymore.

Secondary: what are the specific fluids? Manual says 'see dealer', which is wildly unhelpful.

You'll get a lot of advise for and against doing it yourself here. It's not that either job is difficult, it's a matter of do you want to take the time, laying on your back and have to deal with all those spent fluids? At my age, I'd spend the $500.

I don't have the facilities or tools to do it myself anymore, well I have the tools but not the facilities, DC life.

My question was more independent mechanic or dealership, I guess they are roughly the same.

These do look way better than the goggles, tangibly improving your rear end. Nothing beats the original taillight design though, I'm surprised there is no exact aftermarket replica of those for the 2019+.

Having a spare set is wise, electrical aftermarket parts are riskier. I have a spare LED side market kit, too, even though it looks like I hit the jackpot with the ones I've had working flawlessly since late 2018.

JW Motorsports, they seem to have gone defunct since then. My spare kit is from Diode Dynamics.
