i asked my installer this today and he doesnt think it will effect IGLA at all. he said as long as the BCM is not changed / the code lines are not changed it should not effect at all. a firmware update shouldn't change anything.

asked dealer as well, waiting for reply. will ask tuner as well

They aren't recalling any A10s according to what I read. They simply want to do a cover their ass software update to the TCM. How about fixing the actual problem GM....

It is a safety recall specifically. Hence why it is a major issue, even more so with Modified Vehicles. And an issue that can destroy transmissions or injure or even kill people. But ya, the TSB section has a lot more detailed information about the A10 recall. And the fact there is a fix for it, but GM is refusing to use it.

Sadly that is the boat I am in. Talking with GM about it but of course haven't heard anything from GM since I talked to them the first time and now they have not returned my calls. And Chevy is refusing to do the recall work at all on my car.

GM somehow managed to screw up the A10 after years of very stable production with only minor shift quality issues ... "second generation design", come on now. This is even worse than the annoyance of the shudder with the A8s still running the original fluid.

I received my recall yesterday. 23 SS manual. I did request from GM 6-8 months ago their help on the theft issue. I hope this makes it more difficult to steal. Dyno

Got my BCM updated last Saturday from the dealer. They were busy, but it only took them about two hours (including GM's standard multi-point inspection). ECM remained untouched and no issues thus far.

As far as the transmission is concerned, I got the notice in my Chevy app, as I now have a 2020 with the A10 and an HP Tuners unlocked T93A. I'm not worried about the fix bothering my tune when it becomes available, however I am concerned they may not be able to flash the "valve body monitoring" software because my TCM is not stock. I'm contemplating swapping back to my factory one, removing my mods, and reflashing my "stock" tune file for this. But I really, REALLY don't feel like prying off my fuel rails again and possibly tearing up my seals in the process, like I did on my LT1 injectors.

I'm curious to know if there were any problems for anyone who has had it done with an unlocked TCM.

Got my notice today, but I already updated mine last week. Took them 2 hours because the update kept failing on the last screen of the install. The process did reset my "lower windows with FOB" option. I had to change it back to active..

on my 22 1SS, the BCM update seems to have eliminated the keyfob 'express-window-down' feature for the windows. it used to work by holding the keyfob unlock button for a few seconds.
