I did the same thing.

Removed the useless charger, kept it and installed the tray.

If so desired, I can install a charger through the tray backside and power it from a new power wire run through the console.

I'm ready for the first oil change (The first one I've done to the car now that I'm out of free ones). I was expecting a bigger oil filter for some reason...

This filter size works fine, don't worry.

You can find and use a slightly taller one with the same bypass psi if you really want, but I haven't heard of any issue with the stock PF64 or compatible higher quality filters. Assuming one changes the oil frequently, of course, just as this amazing car deserves.

Thanks, I won't worry. I read this one was ideal for the bypass pressure the engine is designed for. I like the sounds of that, so that's what I went with.

My oil change interval for this car is going to be every 5000km (Easy to keep track of on the ODO, this one will be the 15,000KM one =P)

Where do people normally log their personal maintenance? I see a bunch of lined paper at the back of the manual, assuming there?

I use the service history feature at my.chevrolet.com: I enter my own maintenance records, then download the entire service history every time (because I don't really trust GM to keep this properly available, heh... it was touch and go for years before it finally stabilized in recent months).

That definitely seems like a good idea, I'll for sure plug my info in there as well.

Thanks!

I'm so glad mine didn't come with the charger, that space is perfect for wallet and keys

I keep an extra check register in the glove box where I can log service and maintenance that I do.

I used to have the hardcopy log in the glove compartment. With my sixth gens, I switched to tracking mileage, maintenance, etc. in a text-style Word .doc on my phone.

I keep a hard copy folder of paperwork for each Camaro(vehicle) I own, but as arpad said, “You win.”
