Proper Lift Points?

I know this has likely been asked before but I need clarification.

What are the proper lift points for our cars?

The previous shop who did work on my car pushed the fenders out trying to lift it and I have to have it repaired by a body shop. I don't want that to happen again and I need to go back to the shop for new tires tomorrow.

Here you go. Lift points are outlined in yellow, and these are the pinch welds. I highly recommend metal lift pads that install over the pinch welds, so your shop (or you) can jack directly on them. Otherwise, you would need to use rubber jack pads at a minimum. I got mine off Amazon.

Taking my car to a shop is EXACTLY why I put ZL1-Addons jack pads on mine.

How about rear Jack stand placement should on a convertible? I’m trying to swap out my diff fluid but I’m not sure where to put my jack stands on the rear. I also have metal lift points on my pinch welds so I can’t put the stands there if I’m lifting from those points.

On my convertible, I use the jack points. I have the rubber pads that are molded to fit on a jack stand and slotted for the lift point. I've used them on all four lift points to do tire rotations.

Sorry if this might sound stupid, but if you’re lifting from the lift point, how do you get the jack stand on the lift point?

And also, these are similar to the rubber pads I have on my stands. Are these similar to what you have?

Even if working on (only) the rear, I lift with the jack from the front lift point until I have the clearance I need at the rear lift point. It's a pretty stiff car so the rear follows up pretty closely.

If you're using the jack stand under the pinch weld, try something with this shape instead

Best video on this topic, I've used it to safely lift mine. I have the same jack. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NX_Qf9...NhbWFybyBsaWZ0

Do those bolt on or wield on?

You can either get bolt on (set screw with loctite) or you can get the magnetic lift pucks that can be removed. I put the permanent ones on but either product is good. I suppose if I had multiple vehicles with pinch welds, the magnetic puck would've been more economical to be used across those cars as well.

I never got a response from ZL1 Addons to this question.

I noticed that ZL1 permanent ones have a white plastic piece in the bottom and the generic ones do not.
The generic ones appear deeper, too.

Is the actual load point the vertical pinch weld? If yes, then the lifting pad MUST come in contact with that surface and then secure the pads.

If you use the pads that are too deep, then you are relying on the set screw to do the supporting.

Install note, on a 1LE, it seems the side skirt obstructs the front lifting points, especially when trying to turn the set screw.

As for the set screw, I think they made them too short when fully set. Not much thread contact in the pad.
I took mine off this weekend and may have to customize them. They were off Amazon and not ZL! Addons.
