I’m waiting a bit to pull the trigger on the Dsx atlas. They seem to be adding more and more. Plus I’ll splurge for the dual wb. But once cry once. It’s a long term investment for the car.

Funny, I’m ordering the Reflex this week. It can currently do more than the Atlas, and dealing with Mike Sitar/THPSI > DSX. Mike and I had a great conversation the other day and tuning in the Reflex is much easier than it’s made out to be. It can use my existing AEM wideband too and I like the idea of being able to use my Smoothboost for boost by gear with it too at some point. I’m sure DSX will continue to add to the Atlas but for now I think the Reflex does everything needed and then some. Definitely great that we have a couple of nice options for PI fueling though.

Agreed the current THP can do more than the atlas but I wanted simple and easy. To me that’s factory ecu. I’ve been listening to Justin white and he’s got some really cool stuff he does w the THP. Boost control. Lockup.
I already bought boost leash controller though. Seems like I’m jumping around a bit.

The chances of ever needing a new ECM is slim to none. But I get what you are saying. They should allow the patch to be applied on the user end. I also agree that Mike is super easy to deal with and very helpful! The THP setup is hard to beat all around imo.

Definitely not trying to doom and gloom the DSX setup but as an engineer this is the kind of stupid stuff I think about all the time… what happens 2, 3, 5, or more years down the road. Mike @ Katech and Mike @ THPSI are two of the very best guys in this LT community. It makes you want to do business with them!

Thinking about it, I have probably 300-flashes on this ECM. I just bought a back-up (for reasons I probably need to), and was going to get another spare (to be a spare - this is my keeper). I'll probably be the individual to find out what the max' is...
Atlas sounds like it's going to be the easiest from a plug-and-play perspective, and probably the quickest to tune for. I really like the apparent integration with the SCANNER, too, and DSX products are excellent. BUT - that OS that we (customers) don't have control over, is something I have the same feelings about. And, maybe, it's never going to be a problem. BUT - it kinda' feels like the way my phone does: I bought it, and it's mine, but even though all of that is fact, I still don't control what Apple can see and what it does with that information - and other stuff I can't think about or know that I should know. It's similar with this product, IMO. A customer pays for it and all that, but the customer gives up some control by having to go through DSX for the OS and that, IMO, just doesn't feel too much different than the phone scenario. Now - I give any and all credit to everything DSX has done, and appreciate the product they're offering. I think it's their right to implement it however they see fit. And Dave seems to be a high-level-smart guy. It's just I want any and all control and influence over my products as much as possible (even if I can't exploit them, I know others that can). If you know TunerPRO (I don't, but I dabble in enough to use my Reflex), all that stuff is there. There's no OS that Mike has that you HAVE to go to him for that you couldn't do yourself if you were so inclined. All that stuff is there to see (to my understanding - but wouldn't know what it meant, lol), and all the control is in your hands. It's got a bit of a lead on functionality, and Mike continues to refine it. The one thing that would be great to see is better SCANNER integration, but it shows enough that you get what you're looking for. It takes more time to tune, but if you've tuned for meth' before, this is no different in that regard. It's more user involved, but if you like that, then it can be a plus. And I can attest to how great the Mikes are that Josh' referenced. I've dealt directly (and a lot) with both, and both are customer driven, and both are just great emissaries of the automotive aftermarket. I'm very happy I've spent money for my hot rod with their companies, and will continue to in the future. Choices are great for us.

I mean… somebody else can develop their own OS mod and put in the hours of required work to get it done… and then do your best to make sure your competitors don’t steal it or benefit from it. Doing things as robust and seamless as I do requires a lot, and the last thing I want is somebody taking that for their own. Frankly I am tired of my work being repeatedly stolen which is why we have changed the way we do business.
It’s easy to talk about stuff you’ve never used. I’d urge you to talk to people who have actually used the Atlas after having used anything else. |

In regard to your last point, it’s a brand new product that virtually no one on this board has used. And you are generally not on this board. So how else are we supposed to talk about your product? Most of us on this board choose to do this forum over the chaotic silliness that is social media... We watch the YouTube videos on your channel and read your website, but that’s about all we have to go on until people start using it and report back here. I enjoy reading your blog posts (you obviously know your stuff) and hope you’ll stop by occasionally to share information on your products as time goes on.
