I just WON a DIY Detail polisher!!
Apparently, DIY Detail had a random drawing that I was NOT aware of.
I had spoken with Yvan Lacroix (Owner) a few times on messenger, and I got a message from him asking what email I used to order products from DIY. The cynical part of me (a large part) was thinking "SCAM - he's been hacked" but I repeated my email to him. He tells me they're doing a drawing and wanted to confirm some information. I was like: "Oh, Ok," but didn't think twice about it. A few days later, he sends me ANOTHER message, asking if I'd received my polisher. My response was: "I didn't realise I was getting one." He replied: "You won the drawing and repeated my home address to me. I confirmed it, then he asks "Which polisher would you like?" Still kind of disbeleiving, I said, "Well I have a decent rotary, but my Porter-Cable DA is only an 8mm throw, so I would like your 25mm DA for correction." I wanted to make sure this wasn't a scam (I know, just a bit too late), so I posted to the DIY Detail Face Book page that I had won the drawing. The FIRST comment was from their head of Customer Service, who said that Yvan had just contacted him and the polisher would be shipped shortly. Then Yvan himself also commented and congratulated me. OK. So now this is real ... This past Friday, TWO boxes from DIY arrived at my door. One with the products I had ordered and the second, larger box containing their brand-new, state of the art, cord free polisher. Comes with 2 batteries, charger and 5 and 6 inch backing plates - a $400 kit!!! OF COURSE ... NE Ohio weather is being Bi-polar and isn't suitable for detailing.

Wow, what a huge score!! Congratulations! That looks like a nice machine. I've had my eye on a battery operated polisher like that, so I don't have to deal with the cords, but hard to justify when I wouldn't use it too often.
Do you have a garage? A couple of winters ago, I went out and bought a little Mr. Heater for my garage. I did a strip wash/clay/polish/ceramic coat in March, and it has held up well. Now I can crank up my heater and do rinseless washes in the winter as needed too.
