Car lift recommendations - storage and maintenance
Subject says it all. I'm familiar with the quikjack for maintenance. Anyone have a lift that lets you store 2 cars (one underneath, one in the air)? Kicking around the idea of getting a C8 and keeping my SS. I'd like to be able to do maintenance using it as well. Mainly tire rotation, oil / transmission fluid changes. Anything in particular to look out for? thanks in advance.

I had a Bendpak HD-9 in my last garage, and it was awesome. Mine was the XW (extra-tall, extra-wide) version, but there are a lot of variants to fit different spaces. I also had a rolling jack which made things like suspension work and tire changes easier.

I don't have them but would love to have QuikJacks (extended length needed for 6th gen Camaro). High enough to work from below, level for oil changes and wheels free to swap winter/summer sets and do brake jobs.

I'm in the process of moving and the new place will have a 4 post lift. Whichever one you chose I'd encourage an ALI certificated mfg

If you go with QuickJacks, just get what's best for your stable. If I didn't own the S2000, I might have gone with the XL so it would work on my SUV too. |

Agree with another poster. Also have 5000TL. No extension..I've had mine for 2 years and have used them countless times with the Camaro and my daily. Oil changes, trans fluid, rear diff, tire swaps, pad changes. As long as you read the manual(it's well done in my opinion and a quality book)properly orient them and use the correct mounting locations on the car I think youd be quite happy. Some have found decent prices at Costco. I got mine delivered from Home Depot and spent around $1400 2 years ago.

I have the QuickJack 7000TLX and it's been great. It's fairly heavy but works well and lifts the car pretty high up. Great if you don't have a super high garage ceiling. I even did an install video when I initially put it together for my Camaro...
If you have a nice high ceiling garage go for a 2 post Wish I could run a 2 post lift but I have a post tension cable foundation so you can run into potential issues with warranty if drilling into the floor, and, my ceiling is only like 10' :-/![]()

My brother just put a 2 post lift in his "New Garage" that he built behind his existing house which already had a very oversized 3 car garage...
![]() Cuz apparently he needed more space...

quickjack is great for most people. i have mine and use it all the time on our vehicles. however, you shouldn't use it for long term storage. really no lift that puts stress on suspension should be used as storage.
if you intend to store vehicles underneath, you should either go 4 post or a stacker lift. a two post is not an option nor are any scissor lifts.

By "stress on the suspension" you mean allowing it to hang freely/not sitting on the tires, correct. |

I'm not a fan of bendpak. I have bendpak challenger rotary and Mohawk. Bendpak is my least favorite for quality sturdiness and customer service.
