Circling back after the first track day with PZero scrubs, 305/680/18 up front, and 325/680/18 in the rear. With -3.6 up front and -2.6 rear, neutral toe. Started at 26ish PSI, but dropped a bit later hoping to find more grip.

No rubs, ice mode, etc. All good there.

Ambient was 55ish degrees F. Car was insanely loose on cold tires all day. So loose, I thought something was wrong with it when I went out first session. During my last session, I even spun the car on the first lap.

However, once the tires were warm, it got very good. About the same balance and oversteer tendencies you get on SC3s . . . only much faster. In one or two turns, I could invoke a little understeer and then turn the car with throttle, but it would be snappy if I wasn't careful. Overall, the setup was fast, as long as you babied the car for the first 2-3 laps.

The Pirelli's hate the cold. I've done an event at 45F and it would take a whole 20 minute session to get enough heat into the tires. Then the next session, 2-3 laps. It's tough using them in the Midwest during the spring and fall. I don't think they're really meant for 60F and below. I've heard much better things about the Michelins since they are a soft compound.

Agreed 100%. What I didn't mention . . . I got to the track, and it was only about 30degrees F. I pulled the car off the trailer and let it sit. Was going to go out the first time at 11AM. I went to adjust pressures right before the session and found the cold had cracked the front two tires; they were useless. I had to run home, grab spares and have them mounted. Two ruined scrubs and a $100 mounting fee later, and I didn't get out on the track the first time until 2PM. Was very frustrating.

And then got on the track to find the car downright wicked when cold
