When I was looking for a very specific set of features for a new Camaro, I was prepared to fly anywhere in the country to get it (was actually kind of looking forward to buying a car and having to take a road trip to drive it home!), but ended up finding the perfect car just 2 hours away.

Unhappy

I might get a used manual later on, a well equiped low miles or a nice C7 7 speed.

The 7MT on the C7 Stingray is not as precise as the 6MT on the Camaro. I found that after test driving one, and I kept missing a shift.

The opposite for me. After close to a dozen manual Corvettes and Camaros as daily drivers, I went with the A10 on my present car and am extremely happy with it. It shifts better than I can, and has been a relief in traffic. I have no interest in going back at all. Anything before the A10 was a tradeoff, but now, it's a very clear choice other than nostalgia.

I have had many sticks in my life and when shopping for my FIFTY I did test drive a stick but went to the automatic with no regrets. I never liked going through the gears in heavy traffic and not being able to sip on my coffee. lol. Sometimes I do miss driving a standard but I shake that off. Now, I enjoy the whole driving experience that the auto gives me.

Before I purchased my A10, I test drove a 2018 M6. It was absolutely fun. After having quite a few birthday's the A10 is for me. No, it's not the same a driving a manual but overall the car is so much fun to drive, who cares. I got the A10 because I thought my wife would want to drive it some. It was only after I got it home she told me she has no desire to drive the car.

It's a matter of personal choice and I am never going to fault someone for their manual. Truth be told, I wish I has one of each.

Going from a 4th gen m6 to a 6th gen m6 I have to say the tech like hill assist and auto parking brake release is a real treat for manuals!

Hard to go wrong either way. Camaro has the superior Tremec over the Mustang GT's laughable Getrag.

That said, the 10L90 is one helluva transmission and it handles the LT4 well.

I had a M6 in my 2016 and I loved it. That being said when I got my 2024 1LE I choose the A10 and I love it too. Can't go wrong with either.

I completely agree that autos like the A10 have gotten rid of the performance negatives autos used to have. The manual is now the slower choice.

I personally disagree it's all nostalgia to stick with a manual. If you want to shift yourself "manual mode" in the A10 is just plain not as much fun as the actual manual. Yeah it is a personal preference, but for me it's tied to enjoyment, not nostalgia.

Probably a lot of it is I very rarely have to drive in city traffic. If I did mostly that, my choice would most likely change.

They say so, but corvettes are usually lower miles and in better shape than camaros. I also don't like the transaxle and torque tube situation but it is what it is.

I had a 21 LT1 M6 that got stolen, took the insurance money and was only to find a 23 LT1 but with the auto. After a month of having it I could not get use to it and missed the M version. I had to trade the new LT1 auto in for a new 24 M6 version, lost money but it made me a lot more happier.

Yes but I only wish my 1SS A10 was an M6 about 98% of the time I drive it. I never track it, and stickshift is so much better for me on the street - so much more control. I DD/roadtrip with the 2015 SS Sedan M6 unless i know there will be much stop & go traffic.

On roadcourse/track I strongly prefer slushbox and have no doubt that camaro A10 is programmed perfectly for track, given a day of track training & experience with CTS-V years ago.
