Anyone running spacers

Had a good oppertunity to sell my Stance wheels at a great price so I did. I have a few sets of Wheels for my C7 and C8 so I test fitted my 20/21 set on the Camaro while I waited to order a new set. Well they look great, BUT the offsets are off LOL. The rears look perfect and I'm really happy but the fronts need to come out alittle. I ordered 12mm spacers and I had no threads on my stock studs, so I ordered 20mm spacers WITH studs and now the factory studs protrude out of the front of the spacers lol. WTH do I do before just buying more wheels. LOL

Change out the wheel studs to longer ones, and run the 12mm. The front studs are pretty easy to change right on the car.

I'm running 15mm spacers. I cut the factory studs.

I agree with this approach; less failure points than the setup the OP is using.

I kind of want to just take a grinder and cut my studs. Does anyone know the length of the factory studs?

You my friend are heaven sent. LOL I hacked the chit up out of those studs with the grinder but I was successful. 20mm spacers with front C8 wheels are PERFECT. I 'll post pics tomorrow or something but so happy I dont need to buy wheels right now. My spacers came with red locktight so I put the locktight on the factory studs and then torqued the spacer on with my 1/2 Makita impact. Likely excessive but good. I then cut the excessive stock studs off. Initially I thought I didnt have enough lug so I measured the factory stud from the rotor and its i think 1.5" but 1/2" is the non threaded guide to get lugs on. I then measured studs on spacers and well they were 1 1/4" so it was perfect.

That looks great! ....I found a post a good while back where this member did something very similar. ....in my case, I'm running FOUR REAR wheels, sooo a square 275 tire set up, BUT.....I wanted the wheel/tire to sit the same as the 1LE cars, which I really do like. ....trimming the studs and running spacers was the answer.

....I also want to point out a concern with simply using longer studs. At SOME length, the stud loses strength and there's too much flex. Not sure what that point is, but the mechanical engineer in my head doesn't like adding almost an inch longer studs. Doesn't mean you can't or shouldn't, just means I don't like it. Spacers, and whether or not they're safe has been a long debated topic, but in 2025 I think it's pretty much been resolved. They're safe when used safely. Countless racecars and off road vehicles use them in conditions most of us will never throw at a vehicle. Don't know many of us who haven't used them, and I've personally used them on many of my vehicles over the years. I do buy good quality spacers however, my latest being from Eibach. -anyhow, sounds like you've obviously already done the work! Here's that thread where he mentions spacers and cutting studs.

LOL I bought my spacers on Ebay for about $40. LOL This is not long term, I just didnt want to buy another set of wheels right now and these were sitting around from the C8. My C7 is Velocity yellow and bronze wiheels would look silly so the Camaro which had bronze that I just sold looks good so I am pleased. Car does make a ton of power but honestly I rarely dog out this thing much less even drive it with a C7 and C8. LOL Thanks again my friend. You ever in Norcal look me up. I owe your @ss a beer.
