Thanks! I just added some "daytime" photos to the Satin Steel thread. Happy with the Wolfgang's look so far!

Yeah this recall reminds me of the same issue I had with my '22 Silverado. PITA for sure.

Saw this in another thread so thought I would do it for my ZL1 to spice up the engine bay a little. Gloss black and Glass Candy Apple red. Next up, I will attempt it on the blower lid and intake in the same color scheme. By no means am I a professional, just like to dabble with little projects like this.

Finally installed my 1LE wheels and Rokblokz splash (projectile) guards. It's off to the tire shop on Monday for some Continental all season tires. These wheels give the car a whole new demeanor.

Looks great, are those OEM or MRR wheels? I loved how the look of my car changed when I put the same wheels on...

Ray, do you really want to drive this beauty through NJ winters? I understand if you have to, but then make sure you clean all the salt and brine very, very thoroughly.

However, if not, then don't compromise the entire year with all-season tires, go for the real deal (ExtremeContact Sport 02 if you insist on Contis).

I currently run the ExtremeContact Sport 02's and they're really good all around. Especially good in the rain!

2SS Capt,

They are OEM 1LE wheels. I bought them from the company that builds the Yenko cars. They would take delivery of a new 1LE and test drive it for 2 to 10 miles to verify that everything works properly then bring the car back to the shop for upgrades. The wheels are pristine.

SSShark,

The tires are factory 1LE Goodyear SC3's in the factory sizes 285/30, 305/30. Once I have them removed, I'll post them up for sale if anyone is interested. Those Continental Sport 02's do look nice. I wonder how they perform in cold temperatures? Probably not as well as an AS tire, if I had to guess. Fortunately tires are short lived and a car's role can change with time. If I didn't have to drive the car in cold temps it would certainly have summer tires.

arpad_m,

No I don't want to drive the car through winters but it is my daily driver. I do have access to another car if I have to drive in an active snow storm and I can work from home if it's an all out blizzard. So the Camaro only sees day or days after salt conditions. It never actually gets driven on snow/ice. My previous 2012 SS saw the same conditions and never had any corrosion problems. It probably helps that I do wash my car in the winter as long as the temps are in the high 30's or more. Note that I am in South Jersey. If we get five accumulating snow storms it's a bad winter. That rarely happens. We only had one this year and it was around 6-8 inches. The roads were clear in less than 24 hours. Unfortunately I insist on Goodyear tires but they don't have and AS offering in these sizes.

Anyway, thanks to everyone on this forum. It is an invaluable resource. I really appreciate everyone who responded on my splash guard thread. Sometimes you just need to talk it out. I'll be sure to post some pics of my Rokblokz installation.

-Ray

The Sport 02's are a solid all around tire, although I can't really comment on how they perform in cold weather since I live in South Florida. The only complaint that I have about them is the tread width and side wall height. The SC3's are slightly wider and taller, giving it a more square appearance. The section width is the same for both. Regarding the AS's, I feel like the tread patterns don't do the car justice.

some accessories

Shift knob from Speedawg.

Added the foot well lighting.
Driver's side is zip tied for now. The hole it is supposed to go in is blocked top and bottom with wiring harnesses. Even if it wasn't, not sure the plug would survive with the clutch there and there is no room to go the other way.
Colors are the same, just a camera compensation for some reason.

Added a Sequenced third brake light with lighted switch and inline fuse.

Not sure why the photos went sideways here.
