One more thing, if you're able to make silicone caulk look good and you can get a can of OEM (AC Delco) spray paint for your car, I'm sure you'll be able to paint the guards yourself. I did the same with the RS grille inserts for my previous Camaro (they weren't offered in my paint color), and it took me almost a full day, being a total noob to this, but they turned out perfect.
I agree with Arpad on this. I've painted MANY things with rattle can 1k spray paint, then putting a 2k rattle can clear over it. I wouldn't do a hood or door panel, but grills, accents pieces, -or splashguards, I wouldn't hesitate at all!!!! Your local autobody supply should easily be able to mix up a can of Riptide blue. For the clear, I'm a fan of SprayMax. .....if they're new, you could simply scotchbrite scuff, then paint/clear. I bought the Hyper Blue guards, but I'm thinking I may go gloss black. Fully prepared to paint, if that's what I decide. LOL, and disregard my profile pic, the red car is gone. Current SS is definitely Hyper blue!!

I'm mulling getting some thin foam adhesive-backed weather stripping to apply to the rear fender edge or mud flap so the mud flap isn't directly contacting the paint. Or 3M adhesive similar to what's used on the front guards.

That said, I'm also thinking about switching to the GM guards since they replenished stock - would be trading form for function, though. They look the best IMO, plus I'm a sucker for OEM stuff.

My local body shop quoted $300 to paint factory splash guards. So I decided to go with Rokblokz. Ordered them yesterday. Hopefully I have time to install them next weekend.

PPF

I have front and rear rock guards. One is ZL1 rock guards and the rear is some el cheapo that prevents peppering the people behind me. The best mod has been PPF behind the rear tires and PPF on the side skirts.I literally have 0/minimal peppering at 45k miles and many track days.

Watch a few short YT videos and use a slip solution, alcohol and squeegee, you'll be golden. You can trim the Xpel down to cover the areas you are concerned about. I have found the front rock guards provide the most protection directly behind the front fender and along the sides both above and below where the side skirts sit. Rear rock guards offer protection also but to a much lesser extent. However it is a thoughtful gesture and is greatly appreciated by the folks behind you.

i've also bought stealth PPF in rather large quantities for my hood and front bumper at $300+. It takes time and skill to wrap a hood and bumper.. Not recommended for the inexperienced or impatient folks.

Xpel is a great product.

Please feel free to reach out. Rock guards a good line of attack but not the only solution. Both together will really prevent chips, peppering and rock chips/cracks in windshields of the folms behind you (especially if you are running 200 TW tires like the Goodyear SC3's.
