Programming memory seats. Door button vs. Key Fob.

When I bought my car, the dealer joked about how the previous owner was a little old lady, and the key fob was programmed to put the seat super high and close the wheel. Almost got crushed when I got in!!!!! It was funny, we laughed, all good, I bought the car, turned off the auto recall which ties the seat to the fob, and programmed my seat. Push set til it beeps, Hold the 1 or 2 until 2 beeps. All good.

Today, the dealer turned the auto recall back on, since the service tech adjusted the seat. He said it would go right back to my settings when I got it. No big deal, I don't use the feature, but no biggie. When I got it and cranked it up, it defaulted back to the previous owners settings, super close to the wheel!

Long story short, I can obviously turn OFF auto recall, and I can re-set the door button, but I can NOT figure out how to get the key fob to recognize MY settings, and not go back to the previous owner's settings.

Thoughts?

Did you try the other key fob?

That thing when it goes all the way up isn't a setting from the old lady - it's to allow rear seat passengers out.

When I'm still sitting in the seat!?!?!

....so I got it figured out. I had originally been using Fob2, so the other day when this happened, I kept programming button number 2. .....I'd move the seat while driving, press button 2 and it went back to my programmed spot. When I'd go to get back in, it was reading what I THOUGHT was fob 2. It was not. It was fob 1. ....at some point I must have started using Fob 1. Later that day I got both fobs out and got it figured out and programmed them both.

Odd, my seat goes all the way back when the car is off & I open the drivers door, to let me (the driver) get out more easily.

Yeah, that's the 3rd (exit position) setting.

One can make the car use it automatically when you kill the engine and open the door (seat moves from its current position to the exit position) and when you close the door and start the engine (seat moves from exit position to memory position 1or 2, depending on which fob you're using or last memory position when both fobs are in the vehicle).

Yes, that's what it's for, to allow the driver to get out of the seat a bit easier. Typically, people prefer to have the seat move back and up, so they don't have to lift themselves up off the floor from under the steering wheel.

It's not the exit. Exit is off. ...and it wasn't doing this when I got OUT, it was when I get IN. But regardless, it's fixed. Issue was I mixed up which fob was which, -which is why the button wasn't reprogramming the fob. Wrong fob in hand!
